Nice little doubles win, given that Dani is a part time player. Wish the BBC had actually shown it, mind you.

This Vallverdu is good... Sorry...

Seriously who is he? Never heard of him and wondering why Andy chose him?

yeah, :)

More time on the courts :)

Quite a strong team to beat judging by just names.

They are good friends from Andy's time in Spain. He's a college player in the US, I think.

Are you the Virtua Tennis 3 MrExcel?

Ah right thanks :)

And yes, I am indeed! Do I know you?

Not really. Played you a few times. I'm Jim MacD. Ranked 3rd. I just remember you using Henman.

Can't say I remember... But then if you're ranked third I probably lost and don't tend to remember the loses! Hope it was close though... I'd be top 100 if it wasn't for idiots with connection problems :)

Completely agree. The few weeks in the year we have tennis on terrestrial TV and they opt not to show all of the matches. It wasn't even as if there was anything more important, just football classics or some such thing. It drives me mad.

As exciting as livescore can be. Can't really discuss performances. Seems like a good win, though. Andy and Dani remain an unbeaten doubles pairing :D

Tell me about it. I wanted to strangle Andrew Castle (more than I normally do) when they went off air.

You beat me 3-1 once when I was ranked outside the top 100. You kept slicing and coming into the net with your Henman and I kept coming forward expecting the drop shot. I think we maybe played twice after that, and I won those (when I broke into the top 10).

VT3 is dying anyway. Top Spin 3 on the way, though ;)

He doesn't even know the rules... He thought you can put your racket across the net to hit a volley... Then Rusedski had to correct him that that's only when the ball bounces on your side and the back-spin takes it back over... I despair...

 Yeah, I;ve had that urge a few times. At least it wasn't Pat Cash, although I suppose I have the joys of his commentary to look forward to :sobbing:

Particularly shocking given that he was a professional tennis player.

Damned annoying that they couldn't leave a camera on for this match. We didn't need commentators. Given how irritating Castle and Rusedski have been all day, the silence would have been a blessed relief.

Well done to Andy and Dani The Fat (as Andy calls him).

I don't know why - from his pics, he looks in fine shape to me :)

I sorta expected Gasquet and Mahut to romp this, so a fine effort. After a shaky start, it looks like Dani pulled his weight quite nicely.

Andy and The Fat have never actually lost. They entered 5 doubles tournaments as juniors and won four. They had to retire from the 5th one they entered. I guess they must have some chemistry.

I wouldnt be making too many clever comments about Gasquet lately. His ranking is going to plummet real bad in about 4 weeks time.

Very possible. I don't see him repeating his semi-final appearance unless he hits another hot streak. He doesn't string enough of those performances together unfortunately.

Vamos, take that Gasquet :rocker2: this fully makes up for that loss in Paris now :o

And I'll join in with the Andrew Castle bashing :retard:

Got to agree with "I like Murray" (did I really say that!). Wouldn't go there BGT cuz much to my dismay I'm afraid our boy Richie will be lucky to see Top 25 by July. And even worse - Murray will be Top 8-10 :(. But Richie is due for another amazing streak and order should be restored by the end of the summer...

Why isn't Gasquet teaming up with Tsonga? These two guys teaming up is incredible. I've never seen such a great doubles team ever since after the Woodies.

Tsonga had a knee operation a few weeks ago. He won't be back until the USO at least.

He has been training hard with his new coach. He hit with my Andy (as opposed to this Andy) and lost the TB 7-2... but the fact that it even got to a TB against Andy on grass is promising. He doesn't play singles until Wednesday so I hope to see improvement from his Hamburg match against Seppi.

Andy's friend from Sanchez-Casal. His nickname's 'The Fat'. He's on the Venezuelan DC team, if I'm not mistaken and is a college player in the US, like Clydey pointed out.
