My experience with Roger Federer :)

So i was walking home from the shops and I see someone familiar in a shoe shop right beside my house. I stopped and walked back and realised it was Mirka Vavrinek. I was like 'Oh wow thats cool , she must be taking some time off while Roger practices'. after stopping home and excitedly telling my roomate I went off to go get milk and I was going to pop in a say good luck to her for tomorro until I see Roger sitting there. I wasnt expecting it so I walkled by and hurried to get my milk. On the way back I looked into the shop and they were still there. Mirka was tryin on shoes with a friend and Roger was sitting there looking pretty bored on his mobile phone. So I pop open the door and I said 'Good luck tomorrow Roger!' and he looks up with a big smile and says 'Thanks'.

It was a pretty minor encounter but I thought i'd mention it because it made my day. Also he is extremely handsome and elegant in person, his smile really was contagious. as for Mirka, ive always thought the slagging on here was a bit harsh but my god, she really is quite big :tape:

I think ill be the only person in Paris cheering for him tomorro, I was originally going to say that to him but in hindsight Im glad I didnt :)

Nice story. :)

The closest I got, was throwing a ball to him when he was practicing in Hamburg this year. I have been blessed by him looking at me. ;)

Perhaps, but you'll have to look in his forum or in the "experiences with players" threads. Which is exactly where this waste of a thread should be :D

Thanks for sharing your experience, Frooty. YES - he IS more handsome and impressive in Real Life, I can fully back that up. :D

Have fun in Paris tomorrow, and be sure to send Rogi good vibes.

I was hoping you might have slaughtered him for being an arsehole. In which case, the thread would've fully merited its place at the top of the GM pile :hatoff:

Or that it was perhaps a sexual experience

Alas, I'll be at home in front of my telly, nothing more... :(

I'll try to keep an eye on you nevertheless. :D
As for the crowd - yes, I expect them to cheer for Monfils, of course - but from what I've seen so far, I believe they respect Roger a lot as well, so I don't believe they'll be all too much obnoxious in their cheerings.

Have a great time!

I thought it was going to be something more interesting, like some kind of you saw him slipping off a banana while walking on the streets, but saying "Good luck Roger" and a "Thanks" for answer is kinda yawning to say the least

You should have stayed in there and demanded an autograph, photograph and a hit. I would have said he needed to practice some massive lefty topspin to his crappy backhand... :p:p

OK. ;) I was sitting in the upper decks next to the big group of French fans who travel to all the Davis Cup and Fed Cup ties (sort of like the Net Heads for the US). I love all the American players and all the French player so I was in for a good time. I pulled for PHM against Blake and they really liked that. I chatted with them in French and talked to them a lot and I guess they warmed to me.

For doubles on Saturday, I made a poster that said J'adore Clement/Llodra and they really liked that. On Sunday, I casually asked the "leader" if they ever get to meet the players and she said she was going to meet them after the tie and invited me to go!!

So, after the matches, there was an after party for the French team, and I got to meet PHM, Clement, Llodra, Gasquet, and Guy Forget. I got pics with all of them and got their autographs. Here's some pics, and yes, I am wearing an Andy Roddick Foundation t-shirt :rolls:

That was pretty cool mate. :)
The closest I've been to Roger was in Estoril. You know those huge tennis balls they usually sell in tournaments? I went to buy one with my group of friends and the guy tells us that Roger was gonna practice on the side courts. No need to say we ran there so we could wait for him and try to get an autograph! There was already a great amount of people there, but when Roger came through he didn't gave any autographs. He only did it after the practice. Too bad I couldn't get one, but hey, I was like 2 meter away from Roger. Not that bad right! :wavey:
