Umm... Could someone please explain to me the difference between Entry Rankings and 2004 Leaderboard... there is one @ http://www.atptennis.com/en/players/raceleaderboard/
Roddick is #2 in the Entry race, but #3 on the 2004 Race Leaderboard. ?
Also, How do Rankings work?

ATP race: based on the current calendar year (since january)
Entry System: based on the last 52 weeks
for more details look here:
that should do it

Coria is number two in the race because of clay court results, it's likely that Andy will pass him on the hardcourt swing, although I hope he doesn't

Remember this. Entry Ranking (which is the one that really matters) = Champions Race points x 5.
You can only add points to the Champions race, based on your performace from January 1, to December 31. You can lose points in the Entry Ranking, however, if you fail to defend the results from the same tournament you played last year. Therefore, every player starts with 0 points at the beginning of the year in the Race...but players have a continuous Entry ranking that carries over indefinitely.
It's actually more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it.
