hi, i'd just like to know what people think of Juan Carlos Ferrero. Personally I think he's brillant, and theres too many good reasons for me to go through them all, but i'd like to know what others think of him.

I've been a fan for years... I like his game, although there are a few things about him that I don't like so much. He whines too much, for example. I accept that my favourite players are human too ;)

He is not my favourite player but I enjoy watching him play. I have a great deal of respect for him since he is determined to do well on surfaces other than clay and didn't rest on his laurels after winning RG- made USO finals, AO semis. Not always the most exciting shot-maker but when he gets into the groove its still a pleasure to watch him play.

I like his style of play and his attitude on court.
He is such a humble & modest guy and a great athlete too!
I wish him to regain his confidence and play great tennis again!
I'll always support you, Juanqui!

He doesn't rank anywhere near my favourites / least favourites (I only have about 2 left now!). His game is good, but its personality that tends to really grab me... so he's pretty neutral in my book :)

There is no reason why anyone should hate him.

But, there are a few reasons why everybody don't like him.

Agreed with you there, I've been a fan for ages. I like his game, his looks(shouldn't be relevant but...), his modesty but mainly his attitude to tennis.

i like him...for the reasons like why many like him.....but i guess there will always be people who don't fancy him just like how some of us don't fancy roddick, hewitt, federer, coria, nalby...etc...

Ferrero Forever

- he's drop dead gorgeous
- he's so honest, he admits when he's down on himself and he doesn't try to find excuses for his lack of performance
- he is a great all round player
- his attitude, he hasn't given up entering tournaments even though he has had a nightmare of a year (even though i think he should skip a few and recover though)
- some of the funny terms he uses (tennistically, tennis is like this, it's funny to play on grass etc.)
-the way his games are always so exciting
- he has great sportsmanship

have i given enough reasons, because i could give a lot more if needed

Marine, you are jealous that with all the money that France have that, they have not produced a player of Ferrero's success. It's just a France/Spain thing.

Ferrero, he is not a favourite of mine and probably prefer most of the other Spaniards, but I have no problems with him at all.

I'm' not jealous of talent.
(I can't say the same for you, you don't like the talentuous players, you prefer the Mantilla, Muster...)

Neely

no, I don't dislike him... I like him, like his play :clap2:... but before mentioning Ferrero's name among my favorites I would name about 10 or 12 other players first (and that has nothing to with his current losing streak)

especially I'm glad that he can also play very good on hardcourt or indoor and many other surfaces. Watching matches on clay can be a real   for me and I get sick of all this shit after some time every year during claycourt season (when there is no other tournament on another surface before the FO), so I'm glad he's not just doing well on clay but also on hardcourt. :D

Then again so Grosjean, Rios, Gaudio, Federer and Safin are other talentless players I like. Lets face it Ferrero was French you would like him.

hey, lets not get into an argument here, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. As much as i love ferrero i can understand if you don't like him Marine. I mean i can't stand lleyton hewitt, and a lot of people like him as well.

Juanquilover, Kiefer has been a top player for many years. He used to be highly ranked. I can't remember his career high ranking but I'm sure Neely knows.

I like Juan Carlos. He's not in my top 10, but I always wish him well. I like his game. I think he moves beautifully on the court and I enjoy watching his foot work. It doesn't hurt that he is also a beautiful man. :)

Look at the sig ;). Juanqui is definitely in my top 3 I would say. For all the reasons mentioned before. I like the players who show off on court as wel as the players who can stay calm under most conditions. Also him making a little effort to play well on all surfaces is a big plus :D.

When I'm watching tennis, I try to separate personalities from performance. So, it's hard for me not to like most players I get to see because I focus on their style of play. I can only think of two players I've seen whose games are really ugly to me and I'll still watch them if they come on TV because I'm hoping they get better or I find a way to like what I see.

JCF is in my top 10 of players I like {at the moment ;) }. I've been trying to crown him the King of Clay for four or five years ever since I saw how well he did in clay warm ups. Then he followed up his first major with an exceptional showing at the '03 USO. I was so disappointed that his emotions and fatigue took him out of the finals. I also don't think he did enough homework on handling Andy's serve. Right now, I want him to take a chunk of this year and completely leave the sport so he can rest his mind and body and come back 100%. I'm excited about him, Coria, and Guga wanting to be all surface players and I really want to see JCF take his best shot at it. I was pulling for him to fight for the year end #1 in Houston, but, he had nothing left. I hope he can get healthy and continue to compete at the top of the sport.

Ponytail, what happened in Madrid?

The two players are Soderling and Gimelstob. I don't know if I'm spelling them right. But, I just don't like their games.

I love Juan Carlos! For all the reasons people here have said. I think he seems like a good guy, plus lately he's kinda become sympathetic and I've grown to like him even more lol. Plus I think he has a really nice fluid game that's very nice to watch :)

I personally can't imagine anyone disliking Juan-Carlos - he is such a quiet and easy-going character - very unassuming and always well-behaved on court and off. He's a lovely player to watch too :) I wish him well for the rest of the season - hope he comes back strong from all his injury problems.

I really adore JC..His charisma, attitude, and most importantly, his skills!!
He hits the ball so clearly and powerfully, I think is one of the most well structured ground-strokes..
VAMOS JC! GET BACK into ur form in 03 RG!

Yes - but then what constitutes "boring" is very relative isn't it? I personally think people with big serves are boring - the points are over so quickly and you rarely see any rallies or anything remotely artistic, and I'm not so keen on serve and volley either.

i agree rosie. Ferrero has such an interesting style of play in my opinion. And if the match does end up being boring because ferrero thrashes his opponent, you can always just look at how hot ferrero is, so i don't understand how he can be labelled as a boring player.

I loathe him. For one, he is always complaining about something. Two, I don't like his on-court antics when he plays Andre. Three, I find his style of play brutally ugly. Spin, spin, spin, hardly any variety, and that grunt.

I don't like him.
