British tennis number one Tim Henman is being awarded an OBE by the Queen for his services to lawn tennis.

The honour comes one week after the 29-year old crashed out of Wimbledon in the quarter-finals against unseeded Croat Mario Ancic, sparking speculation that he may never win the prestigious title.

It was in the New Year's Honour List, so announced months ago.

If they were really smart they would have waited that Tim either:
-win Winby.
-announce he is playing his last Wimby.

If i was Tim (well i am Tim but that's another problem :P ) i would see this one as: "you missed your last chance, too bad guy..."

I think OBE stands for Order in the British Empire or something like that.

Out of Body Experience.....?  Should happen to Henman if he ever wins Wimbledon....

Order of the British Empire (nearly right Ilhame ;)), and that's the only thing it stands for in my experience. Commonly given to sportsmen and women (and others who give public service of some sort) in the UK.
