Anybody watching this? I'd love to know what they're giving Roger as a present this year.

that was a great comeback of Mantilla, he was down *4-3 and won it 6-4 :)

well done!

@jtipson
no, I'm not watching it... Swiss TV is broadcasting Tour de France :o

as always, frigging cycling in the ways of tennis

Oh dear, not cycling again. (I can't believe that German TV didn't show the Wimby final, btw - awful.)

and Gruyere as well...

He has a cow and it already gave birth, so there is no lack of meat, milk or cheese for Rogi.

hard work for Mayer!
wins the 1st set 7-5 against Portas! :)

jtipson
07-06-2004, 03:23 PM
Milk and cheese, maybe. I don't think Juliette or Edelweiss would ever end up as meat.

Neely
07-06-2004, 03:25 PM
wow, Rosset can still show us something... about to take the 1st set against Pavel!
up 5-3* currently

Neely

Rosset takes this 1st set 7-6
live score collapses after 4-2 points for Rosset in the tiebreak, so I didn't see with how many points Rosset took this set? Was it 7-5?
did anybody get to see it?

marius7
07-06-2004, 03:53 PM
yes, 7-5

sam
07-06-2004, 03:53 PM

Neely

yes, 7-5
tnx for clarifying that, not really important for the overall result, but I personally always like to know that in most cases ;)

marius7

Mayer won

Neely

Mayer wins against Portas 7-5 6-3

another solid performance from Mayer, doing the transition from grass to clay perfectly, just coming from his biggest success of his young career in Wimbledon :woohoo:

he played a Challenger on Saturday on clay, went to Wimbledon to notch up his biggest career result with a Quarterfinal appearance and goes back to clay the other week and wins again! :clap2: :clap2:

the last 4 weeks have been clay (semifinal) ---> grass (quarterfinal) --> clay (???) :D

VERRRYYYY GOOD, Florian! keep it up :fiery:

Well done, Marc. Bit surprised at that result, I have to say, but it's good that Switzerland will have at least one representative in the second round.

Let's see how the last one does now; won't be surprised if he loses given the lack of sleep and time to transition from grass to clay.

Cool that they gave Rogi a Swiss Alphorn!! I love it! Wearing that traditional Swiss herder's vesty thing too! Lovely, Rogi!

Now, HOPP, ROGI!!!

He must be knackered...

just too good for an out-of-form Behrend, there is nothing you can do as Federer's opponent

Karlovic lead 4-1 3rd set

Play suspended... I thought I had enough of this in Wimby for the entire summer...

Neely

Karlovic def. Hernandez 6-3 6-7(6) 6-3

not bad for Karlovic winning a match and getting a break in each of the two sets he won, but losing the tiebreak that he normally wins

Marc Rosset is Tall
07-06-2004, 08:23 PM
Marc Rosset is tall and victorious, well done Marc.
