:awww: Just wanted to say I watched the Trevisan/Bjorkman match today. And please don't be too hard on Matteo, because he did play really well, and he fought til the end too. It was just that, at the end, Bjorkman had so much more experience than him, and it showed in the final set tie-break and on the "pressure" points. Trevisan doesn't have so much strength yet, and his serve needs to improve (especially second serve), but I think he has the makings of a good player. He certainly has an excellent backhand and he plays intelligently - just needs some more matches against experiened opposition like today to grow and improve on the big occasion.
:wavey: from Rome.

I was also at the Fabbiano match today. I must admit I was very impressed with Fabbiano. He has some nice shots, and, it is just a shame he is so short, because I think that will cause some problems for him on the main tour in the future. He is a fighter though, and played very well.

Congrats Thomas  Mahut is a good first round.
Champion number 1

Great win for Fabbiano and indeed a very good first round opponent on clay. Mahut is more a grass court player.
Good luck to all Italians.

:wavey: I watched some of Fabbiano's match today, but not all of it this time, as I wanted to watch Andreev's match too, and also see some practice, - so sometimes it is impossible to fit everything in  Anyway - I am still impressed with Fabbiano - in the end, I think he just got tired, and Mahut was more experienced than him. Also I think the rain delay affected Fabbiano more than Mahut, but these are things he will learn with time and experience.
Despite the loss of Fabbiano and Naso, they were both impressive in spells in their match. Certainly showed potential of top 50 players. Naso needs to learn an all court game though, when to go for the high risk shots and when not too... he is very raw, great backhand, decent forehand, but that side also falls apart when under pressure. He is 21, so he certainly needs to start acting on his talent as it is the potential of top 100 certainly. He could be a late bloomer and certainly this year he is showing signals. Fabbiano will get better as the year goes on, barring injuries, I am certain. This week he has shown that against top 100-150 players. Cipolla showed that he is more or less out of his league on this stage, top 100 would be a massive career achievement for him. Seppi and Starace with expecte wins :)
