Roddick battles it out on the 4th of July...

Its going to be weird having Roddick, such an typical american player play the final on the 4th of July in London. This is a weird significance. If Roddick wins tomorrow will it be for him or his country? Will this make Andy play better? As good as Roger has been playing, Andy's only chance is to be hyped up about something. I hope he realizes the occasion and uses it to make this an exciting final. Otherwise he has no chance...

If he isn't hyped up about being in the finals, I doubt this will do anything.

And what do you mean by "typical Americal player"

The last two times the final had been played on the 4th of July not only did an American win, but both the finalists were American- 1993 Pete Sampras and Jim Courier and 1999 Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi.

But I don't think that this will have too much significance as far as the final is concerned- both players want to win this one badly- besides, this is the Wimbledon finals, not the Davis Cup finals.
