Sadly Coria will win 3 or 4 games at the most, and not a single game on his own serve  .
Seriously, the guy can't win a match to save his life in the challenger circuit, I wonder what the heck he's doing in a strong ATP tournament.
He was really lucky to draw a huge mug like Gabashvili, but in his current form he outmugs them all :sad::sad:

He has a protected ranking, yes (105). Which also means he will probably enter the MD of the French Open.

Good for him, but I don't get it either because I thought protected rankings are only for physical injuries? He has never denied it was a confidence crisis/mental breakdown which kept him out of the tour for months, I've always wondered about that.

What exactly caused that mental breakdown?

If Guillermo plays in a 20% of his game, he should win :)

For those who dont know to get a PR you only need to be out of courts for atleast 6 months :)

His origoinal problem was a shoulder injury..no?

I'm rooting for Coria but I think Gaba's face will cause him to have another mental breakdown.

For those who dont know to get a PR you only need to be out of courts for atleast 6 months :)I know a player needs to be out for 6 months to have a PR, but is that the only condition? A player can take a 6-month break although he's perfectly fine, just fed up with the life on tour, and come back 6 months later as fresh as a daisy and recover his old ranking?

I'm not saying Coria was perfectly fine, I do believe he had serious issues to sort out, but he was not out for months because of a shoulder injury. He has always said himself it was a sort of "burn-out".
Is that the reason why he got a PR? His shoulder?

So many choices:

1) Coria wins 7/6 6/7 7/6 in a servefest:devil::devil:
2) Gabashvili wins 6/7 7/6 7/6 in a breakfest
3) Coria wins 0/6 7/6 6/0, Gaba's breakdown
etc... anyway, tennis will be the winner:worship:

Guille usually plays one set of decent tennis so I expect him to lose in 3. It is encouraging he isn't throwing in the towel after recent losses.

we should ask how many games/sets can coria win in this tournament... well he struggles to win a match at challengers level this year (though he did win one match at ATP level, yay!)...

but considering who he playing against in the 1st round...., well... he has a real chance!

oh god, i have to admit that i secretly miss him during the clay season... the 2005 rome final was the best final on clay... better than 2006 IMO.....

rooting for coria....
