spitting on court is the same as taking performance enhancing drugs.
drugs enhance ones performance whereas spitting disenhance other players performance bcz of the infections that they get from it.

Final episode; MY final verdict

just as drug users are striped of their trophies/medals and banned, nadal should also
be striped of any clay tournament he wins untill roger doesnt get free of all the infections he is suffering from as a result of nadals spitting. ofcourse he shouldnt be banned that will be a bit harsh.

bcz as stated earlier, drugs and spitting on the court both have similar results/consequences/effects that the drug user/player spitting desire for

Haven't watched Nadal in a while .. was planning to see his match today ... but after reading this lot am having second thoughts! Disgusting - I feel sick when I see "men" doing in the street - let alone having to suffer it in a tennis match. I'll pass up (or throw up) today's match - thanks for the warning.

I remember a lot of tennis players spitting back in the 90s. Then it seemed to go out of fashion. Perhaps Rafa is starting a retro trend, and they'll all be doing it soon? Can't say it offends me all that much, but then I'm not all that refined. My sensibilities can just about cope with a bit of gobbing :p

He had a nice rhythm going today: spit (kick small clump of clay over it), pick ass, bounce ball a few times, adjust ball in pocket, brush hair aside, bounce ball a few more times, serve.

Does anyone find his spitting rather unimpressive? He kind of lets it fall out of his mouth. Very weak trajectory. Of course, he does want to cover it up like a gentleman, so he rightfully keeps it within reach of his foot.

I see players spit on the tennis court and sort of gag. I think women aren't that fond of spitting. Men seem to love it though. I see them spitting all the time. ick ick ick. Not just athletes either. Doesn't Singapore have a law against spitting in public? Yeah. I think that's a good law.

It's less obnoxious on a clay court than on a hard court because you can cover the glop with clay and absorb it, but honestly -- I mean perhaps they should provide spittoons at the back of the court or something if players really think they must spit. I notice female tennis players manage to survive without spitting.

Singapore is a country/town with very poor basic human rights, but yeah... that's a good law.

Beautifully observed.:( If you're going to spit, then spit, don't dribble.

Seriously, have become resigned to the ass-tweaking over the years (although am sure his pants are getting tighter) but the spitting is new and unwelcome. Noticed it first in MC - let's hope he desists.

He picks his ass even wearing normal shorts-did you watch any davis cup? Who cares if he spits, he immediately brushes it over with clay. Spitting in dirt versus spitting on a hardcourt are two very different things. At least he doesn't do what's best associated with Sampras: blowing his nose juice all over the court.
