Interesting match to say the least. :p

Andreev lead 3-1 in the first set but then lost 5 games straight. He then lead 5-2 in another breakfest set before being pegged back to 5-4 30-30 but eventually closed out the set.

Final set Davydenko lead 1-0* and had a smash on BP, Andreev chased it down and Davy missed a simple drive volley. Andreev then lead 3-1* 30-0* and Davydenko looked like he had given up, hit a ball almost randomly down the line for a perfect winner under pressure and ended up holding. Andreev then lead 30-0 next game and got broken to level things. Davydenko then held and broke to lead *5-3, in both games Andreev had his chances.

With Davydenko serving for it Andreev got to yet more BP's but couldn't convert until a net chord got him a third BP and he finally broke. Andreev serving to stay in it, seemed inevitable that it would be hard for him to do so, held easily for 5 all. Andreev had 15-40 at 5-5 but allowed Davydenko to hold with simple returns and FH's dumped in the net. Andreev then went from 40-0 to 40-40, from 40-40 to MP Kolya, and suddenly it was GSM.

In the end it comes down to Davydenko able to hold his nerve slightly better when things really mattered and it cost Andreev the match today.

The gamblers will be out for blood after this one for sure.

Tight match. Davydenko and Ferrer traded breaks of serve in the final set with Davydenko taking the final blow. Davydenko faces either Ferrer (5) or Nadal (2) in the semifinals.

the people on centre court should get a refund for this match, terrible play from both players. something like...

it was also annoying to be only able to HEAR the ball at some points because of the ball's active camouflage, it made waiting for the umpire's call or the disappointing sound of the ball hitting the net all the more painful.

winner of ferrer/nadal next. :help:

Davydenko had an hard period with the spin of Andreev. It was really a close match. Andreev is unstable and irregular . A lot of breaks and break balls.
It's amazing for Andreev to lose the last game when he leads 40-0 on his serve.

What a game from Andreev to lose the match, from 40-0 up.

First set was okay, the next two were rubbish. Really painful to watch, felt like it was dragging on quite a bit.

anything could have happened in the tie breaker. andreev was up 40-0 on his own serve and proceeds to choke it away.

he could have won this match twice. what a shame.

now watch the pathetic coward give Nadal fits in the semis. the coward`s balls only shrink when he sees Fed across the net.

Igor was the first one who drew blood in all 3 sets. In first one fixer played the best tennis in his life to get back and clinch it. In third was Igor's fault, in all 3 service games that he lost he made loads of UE's. Igor even missed 2 BP's and a great chance to break *6:5 with 4 FH UE's, 2 of them in ROS of weak 2nd serve. Not going to even mention last game 40:0 up and DF and 4 consecutive UE's and to lose a match. !@#$%$%^&^&* fixer, I hope that Rafa will be the one delivering him a double bagel.

he is a disgraceful bastard. he said that he practiced for over 4 hours the day following his match with Fed in Estoril.

you just saw him play for nearly 3 hours.

there is nothing wrong with this pathetic coward. whe he realized that he had no answers for Fed`s game again, he ran like a hapless coward and denied Fed an honest win.

Fed ssaid that he has never seen anybody "quit on him" before.

After the first game, where Andreev served, and won it to love with terrific forehand winners and serving, I thought we were in for a show now. But it all went downhill from there, on a very steep decline.

Such an ugly match.

It's funny how you can stick two very good players on a court and they can produce a match of such dreariness and energy-sapping ugliness that a trip to the dentist would be preferable to watching it - and then have the temerity to go right to 7-5 in the third set with it.

Thank GOD the quality rose in the match after it.

Funny statement by Davydenko at the end of match:

"Maybe I was lucky'' said Davydenko, who blamed the ball for his problems with the service. " They are really heavy. You Do not feel if you have good rotation or good control for the service.''

I wonder what kind of balls they are using that Davydenko complains about the balls !

I thought the illustrous "Who can make the most Unforced Errors in One Match"-title should have gone to Mr. Rogelio Carbunkel a few days ago, but lo-and-behold, these two *tools* even managed to beat him to it.

Hard to match to watch, still better than any womens match. As for the result I'd rather Igor won, but Davydenko came through when he had to, hope he can lift his game for the semis.
