Richard showing Nadal who's the boss by losing as few games as he did :rocker2:

Those BHs and drop shots were  and what to say about some of his passing shots :hearts:

I didnt watch the match. Did gasquet play that well or was the #97 a too easy opponent?

He played pretty well from what I could tell but I only caught the second set.

Actually both, Gasquet played ok but Vliegen was awful.

Both.
Richard played very well for someone who could barely walk yesterday and Vliegen was at his muggest.

Gasquet was simply on fire and just didn't ever let Vliegen into the match. Actually, I was slightly irritated that he didn't break the Belgian during his last service game, when he had the chances, so I could get my dream 'double-baguette' thread title - that observation is telling of how much drama there was in the match by that stage ;)

Impressive this Gasquet in Monte Carlo - defeated Federer, Ljubicic, almost defeated Nadal and should've played last year in the semis
Backhand was great again

 I was pissed too because I wanted to write that Richard had lost fewer matches than Rafa :(

I'm cautiously optimistic that Gasquet will come up good, finally. By that I mean he brings his A-game with every remaining match and shows the world:) a French will contend for RG this year. Having said that, a hangnail, or a sprained ear might just be around the corner to derail him...:)

No, he played very bad that day, just lucky to play against a mug.

I watched the whole match, and I think this the most accurate description.

The only thing I remember about Vliegen is that before his match with Nadal on clay last year he called Nadal one-dimensional and lost 6-1,6-1 to him:lol:. Now I know the reason for that loss was not Nadal:lol:

Vliegen was so bad in this match, it is hard to make anything from Richard's form... but he did what he had to do with least amount of time on court. :)
