Interesting response to the topic at hand. I thought it usually makes sense to pack the day you lose.

Anyway, well done JC on defending 1/3 of your points from last year.

It doesn't matter if he plays Nadal next. He just needs to fight and try to assert himself. Too many times he acts like a sitting duck against Nadal.

Well done to JCF :). Tomorrow I just hope that he will battle away as hard as he can and keep the scoreline respectable.

What a positive spirit in this thread. But of course you always diss JC. Did he kick you out of his hotelroom once after he explained that he only sleeps with attractive people? This hatred towards a well liked tennisplayer makes me kinda curious.
Anyway, good win today and as for tommorow....Hopefully we will see a good match.

With Guga out, JCF and Rafa are the only two left in the draw who've won this event. Five times altogether between them.

They also have by far the best match records here (including this year's results):

Nadal 20-1 95.2%
Ferrero 28-6 82.3%
Ferrer 10-4 71.4%
Federer 17-7 70.8%
Moya 28-12 70.0%
Gasquet 9-4 69.2%
Kuerten 14-7 66.7%
Nalbandian 10-5 66.7%
Robredo 8-5 61.5%
Davydenko 6-5 54.5%
Andreev 4-4 50.0%
Djokovic 2-2 50.0%

Hopefully Nadal can make this a competitive match. I don't want to see this kid get beat down too badly.

I dont understand the hatred of JCF. Seems like a mild mannered guy who has accomplished a lot in his career (#1 in the world, several ams titles, roland garros, davis cup) and has done much for Spanish tennis along with Moya and Nadal. No, he is not what he used to be, but that is what happens with age. He is still a top 20 caliber player, so certainly nothing to scoff at. I just hope he plays well tomorrow so we can all enjoy a great clay court spectacle. go jcf.
