Nice one Rafa.

Considering a career as a doubles specialist?

edit 24/04

Into the semis they go :woohoo: :woohoo:

That's pretty damn good to knock out the #3 seeded team.

Congrats Rafa & Tommy!

Rafa obviously doesn't expect to get far in the singles.

Of course not. That's what this is all about. He needs the money, too.

Oh, and you put 6-8 instead of 6-3 in the title.

Yes, I edited that in apparently, because it was the correct score in the 1st post. :retard:

I'd rather he'd lost this match, tbh. Now at some point he'll have to play 2 matches in one day. Unless he loses early in the singles :bigcry:

If Rafito doesn't win Monte Carlo he should retire.

Why the hell is Rafa playing doubles (and actually trying to win) when he needs to win 19 matches in 25 days in order to defend his clay points.

It doesn't seem the most wise thing to do to me either. I can only conclude that he feels THAT much confident on the clay that he knows that playing some extra matches won't bother him in the least.
And yes he definitely wants to play doubles at the Olympics.

Oh, the irony. Knowles and Bhupathi are better than Nestor and Zimonjic.

Take that Nestor.

I doubt the rankings are going to merge the singles and doubles points together like they do for the USTA.

Then why is he playing doubles?

Actually by doing that they might be able to make more people realise doubles are important.

Its not going to happen though.

thaks, don't know that there is such a strange tie-breakers, shouldn't it be the winner be the one who reach 7 first instead of 10
Super Tiebreak (10-3) ;)

That's for normal set tie break. The super tie break was introduced to doubles more than a year ago. After tie at 1-1 in sets, they play for a 10 point tie break called super tie break.

I don't see what the problem is. It serves as prectice for his clay court game and if he feels up to doubles then he should go ahead and practice his volleys and reactions.

He can pull out at any time.

Roland9

I'm in the "he doesn't need this" group.

When he's not playing matches, he should rest and stick to his normal practice sessions.
