Who'd you put to get to the final of MonteCarlo in your ATP Bracket challenge

I put Murray and Davydenko. I regret putting Davydenko. I usually just put who I want to win because even if I put who I think will win, my picks get screwed up anyway. This way I don't have to root against my faves.

I find it funny you regret Davydenko who could actually make the final, but you dont regret Murray who has very little chance.

Sorry if I've never seen the man before. I've only just started seriously following tennis in the past 3 years. God man, get off my balls.

Don't go preaching around then. Corretja is a legend of the game. Never in doubt you're just a fangirl, knows nothing about the history of the sport.

Next thing you can't recognise Lendl.

Of course I can recogize Lendl. I recognized Vilas amongst those pics. I'm just not sure why you're so upset that I didn't recognize the man, I mean, seriously, it's not a big deal.

It's not a big deal. And yet, you have no right to preach to anyone because youre a fan girl who can't recognize corretja.

I love that because I'm a girl who likes tennis I must be comepletely ignorant of the sport. I wonder if straight men can be fanboys as well. If my only flaw is that I can't recognize a person I've never seen before, I'll take it. :haha: I know who Corretja is and I know what he's achieved in his career. I don't really need to prove anything to you men. :yeah:

Of course men can be fanboys. It's not about being a girl. I'm sure a girl who knows a bit about tennis wouldn't ask who's Corretja.

Good thing I didn't ask who he was. :yeah: I Know who he is. He's a very respected Spanish player who retired I think in either 2005 or 2006. He got to 2 French Open finals (lost both) and beat Carlos Moya in the final of the Masters in a memorable 5 set match. (there's a Spanish poster on my other tennis forum who talks about him often). Just because I didn't know what he looked like doesn't mean I'm not a real tennis fan and don't know who he is and what he has done in his career.

Jesus christ this argument is stupid.

So apparently not knowing someone who you've never seen play, and has retired since before you started watching tennis means you know nothing?

I assume you'd immediately recognize a 60 year old Roscoe Tanner right? I mean he won the Australian open in 1977, so if you didn't recognize him it means you know nothing about tennis?

Even though he played tennis before any of us were born?

Yeah, it's kinda like being born with all the knowledge in the world.

Obviously to be a tennis fan you have to memorize the face of anyone who has ever reached a grand slam final before, because god forbid you don't know who one player is.

It's not a 60 year-old, it's not Tanner.

It's freaking Corretja. This guy is a legend for so many reasons.

Don't make this a drama.

Yea I hear your argument, I'm just saying theres a lot of tennis fans who just started following the game in the past five years. Corretja was in his last slam final seven years ago and retired in 04. Just because someone doesn't recognize a player that they've never seen play, no matter how good they were, doesn't mean their completely devoid of tennis knowledge.
