I'm not sure what's wrong with Kolya.
He was a break up in the second and just retired, needed a medical time-out after the first set as well.

after Federer was beat by Vollandri last year, he was playing awfuly during the whole Hamburg week. Even when he beat Moya in the semis of Hamburg, people said 'haha Fed is gonna get crusehd by Nadal tomorrow'. Things changes quickly in tennis. One week after Miami who was Davydenko? Anyway I think Roger is now #3 on the race.

This match was a joke. davidenko helped Fed as good as he could, this man is a joker. then once Fed refuses to take the presents he retires

Seriously, Fed's play doesn't look good to me at all. Either he is still sick or he is mental wrecked or something else is wrong....I just looked some highlights from Rom 2006 where he nearly beat Nadal. He is a completly different player these days. I don't see any chance at all that he beats Nadal in this form.

Maybe he gets lucky and somebdy else takes Nadal out, otherwise bye bye RG.

What kind of :retard: reasoning is this?

Of course that Federer is NOT playing well as of the moment. Who in their right mind would deny that? However, that in no way guarantees that he's going to keep playing like that for the next 3 months, right, smartass?

Granted, chances are things might keep going just like they started this year, but would you kindly explain to me the reasoning behind that conclusion? As far as I'm concerned he might just be in a slump of some sorts, and slumps can come and go any day.

Yes I SAW the match. It is true the wind was bad. it was nearly impossible to play great thats true. If it was just this match I would not worry. But i have seen a couple of Fed matches this year. And I can't see any improvement in his form. It seems to me, he plays worse then in AO. All this breakpoints he doesn't convert, his UE. his body language etc..He used to play his best when it counted, that made the difference, This days, he jokes when it counts quite often.

seriously I don't see him recovering until RG. Not if I a have the current form of Nadal and Nole in mind. I hope I'm wrong and I know things can change quickly in tennis but Rog has put in some shitty performances now pretty consistently.

If he can't play on a high standart with lots of consistency he won't win RG....

This should give Fed some confidence.. not a lot but.. it's a title.

Anyways, Fed played with guys rank 2000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 before geting to Davidenko and even to those guys he had "epic wins" in which he droped sets.. the man who won the AO 2007 without droping one set (including plays vs djokovic and roddick) is now a man who loses to those very same guys sand loses sets to guys ranked guys 65+

Federer is not being outplayed or being "finaly figured out" by his opponents.. he is quite simply playing shit tennis. the fact that he managed to win the first set against davidenko surprises me greatly. if Fed had so much trouble with challenger level opponents I figured daivdenko was going to own him easily.

Again, it all comes down to this. a title is a title and he now has a clay title under his belt for this year. new clay coach. new upcoming clay season and we'll see what happens.

and pop that fucking zit already

The weather was bad, and of taking that into concideration both players didn't play that bad at all. Fed was better in first 6 games, but after that Davy was the better one and he blew a 4 BP's. 2 at 15:40 at 4:3* and 2 set points in 10th and 12 game. Lousy TB at start he quickly went down to 1:5, kept his shit together and made it 5:5, yet again to crack down. I am sure his wrist was bothering him as it did in previous matches, but not enough not to try to finish the match cause he could had still won it. He missed a lifetime chance against Fed where he could have finished the job by himself. The next time he might need a huge help from Fed IMO. I am very disappointed, expected a big battle in 3.

Terrible way to end a final... It was a very enjoyable match, I thought. Plenty of errors but plenty of good rallies and some good nerves as well. I think they both played well in the 1st, not much between them, but Federer was slightly better and he came on top.

Now, of course, reading this thread reveals MTF's brilliance. "Only way for him to win a title" or "Fixer davy" and all that stupidness...

About Federer... He definitely made a very wise decision to play this tournament. I haven't watched the QF and the SF, but in this match, his backhand was so much better from the first 2 matches, nice to see. Also, the serve and the FH both are still huge weapons.

Well done Fed.

And you guys must admit that by this time you cannot conclusively judge whether Fed is playing well or not...what's even worse is your inability to differentiate and put his playing in Estoril into perspective - in other words: later, bitches :wavey:

We can't judge whether Fed is playing well? Why?

Because the playing conditions and the weather was poor throughout the week for all players at Estoril.

Again, it all comes down to this. a title is a title and he now has a clay title under his belt for this year. new clay coach. new upcoming clay season and we'll see what happens.

and pop that fucking zit already

fair view. id say he does have some confidence back, if for nothing else than for getting out of the titleless dark. he stayed with denko as he usually does end was close to impressive 1st set win. didn't see entire match, but they were fairly equal in stats, apart from one break down in 2nd set. doubt however that he will be satisfied with improvements in his game and confidence 'cause the overall impression is shadowed by his record vs russian mafia kid. also doubt that top guys are fazed by this...

as for davydenko, my impression was that he felt after 1st set that he had missed his chances, and he did. the momentum or whateva of the match did not go feds way and it reflected in the second. don't know about type of injury, but i hope he'll be fine.

We can't judge whether Fed is playing well? Why?

Firstly, because half of you guys (haters that is...) just tell each other what you want to hear without having seen him play - as we all know: birds of a feather flock together....secondly, it's a damn build-up for the French Open where he's supposed to be at his best on clay, not now...and thirdly, the weather wasn't really ideal to set up great matches...the latter one couldn't be considered as an excuse on its own, though ;)

Firstly, because half of you guys (haters that is...) just tell each other what you want to hear without having seen him play - as we all know: birds of a feather flock together....
I saw every match of his this week, and wasn't impressed at all. For his standards he played pretty badly.

secondly, it's a damn build-up for the French Open where he's supposed to be at his best on clay, not now...

How is that an answer? We can't judge his form right now because he is saving his best for RG  We can judge the way he played this week. My judgement is in - Not Great.

and thirdly, the weather wasn't really ideal to set up great matches...the latter one couldn't be considered as an excuse on its own, though ;)
