He rejected the earlier offering as being unfit for his court, but ultimately it proved a royal feast indeed!

King just tried to give more value to the spectator's tickets by delaying the 2nd set when he could have closed it serving at 5-4

Immaculate serving stats for Oscar till 4-2 in the 2nd losing only 5 points on serve 2 of which were his DFs

Rumour has it the King got distracted by a woman in the crowd showing off when he was leading 4-1 in the second set. ;)

The King was down 4-2 in the TB, then lifts his game when needed.

Excellent win for Oscar, most importantly he should have enough in the tank for tomorrow's semi. Mods, please keep Sjeng's title :wavey:

Dare we hope for a King-Odesnik final? The only way to rid Houston of it's MM status once and for all. The mind boggles at the possibility.

Texas wouldn't be big enough to fit the crowd that would want to see that final.

Will he split up his SF prize money with Brzezicki?

That's it, a definitive proof that the King is really, in fact, the King:

The King > Fish > Federer. Easy.

I don´t think he has too many fans in here, it´s a running joke (created by George I think it was) from long time ago but many people in here has joined it like a flock of sheeps in order to look funny, that´s how MTF works

It doesn't look good for any promotional ties being forged between Mardy Fish and a local hamburger institution. And please, no jokes about smoked Fish, either.

The refreshing cold front that blew through Friday made for a gorgeous afternoon at River Oaks, but it also caused the winds to shift, sending the smoke from the concession pavilion just north of Center Court wafting over Fish's quarterfinal match with Oscar Hernandez.

"That's not the reason I lost," Fish said, "but I would have liked to have been able to breathe. You can't play clay-court tennis in that. The points are too hard. It felt like I was playing in a bar."

The eighth-seeded Hernandez, who grew up on the red clay in Spain, seemed much less bothered by the enticing fumes from the grill.

"I got hungry," he said, smiling.

I wouldn't know, you laughing at someone getting injured is the height of poor form.

bilbo, it's simple. There are lots of players and even more humans that I don't like on this planet. In spite of this, I don't wish injury or laugh at them for getting injured. Hence that's very poor form.

Deivid, you could be onto something.

can you show me where i said this directly? all i said was i was happy about donkey winning that match as i can't stand berdych. i never said i was happy about his injury. infact i could be happy but i won't tell ya if i am or if i am not. so what you said is pure speculation and that's a bad move from your side not mine.

As a Berdych hater I can't say I'm not happy

nothing said about injury here  i was just happy he lost this match which he would have anyway.
