The battle of the 20 year olds (but Haase is a few months older).
6 breaks in a row in the second set. Korolev served for the match @ 5-3 and had matchpoint.
1 game later he had one again and finished it.

Well this is if Almagro decides to play claycourt tennis and not try and out ballbash like he did with Blake at RG.

Congrats Zhenya, hope he can build from this week and Haase continues his solid season.

Haase's service stats were horrible, he lost more service points than he won. Bit unusual for a player normally serves fairly well (and is difficult to break).

Against Llodra last year it was funny too...

For sure, Korolev would love it if Almagro feeds him pace or just tries to outhit him. Almagro is the big favourite anyway but Korolev has nothing to lose.

Robin ,wtf.
Probably tired of yesterday's match with mad Marat.
However, good result. Could have been 1/2 finals.

I don't know what to say. Although it is a win in straights it wasn't that easy for Korolev. Most of the points were a lot of hard work for both of them.

It could not be easy for Korolev, he is slowly gaining his confidence back...

Well done, Zhenya! :yeah:

Haase turned 21 at the start of this month, weird match with lots of breaks. although its clay Haase should win more games on serve....

decent tournament for Haase. 3 russians was to much

Next week: some rest I guess and then Barcelona
