At least two match points saved here as Verdasco served for the match at *5-4 in the third. He DF's on one of them. Dumbass!

Watching the live scores, it looked like a choke, but who knows, maybe David stepped it up, it went from 5-3 Verdasco to 7-5 Ferrer.

Itd be nice to see Robredo-Ferrer at some point in the week :)

Some very strange match... a breadstick in the second set, and then matchpoints in the third... ending up losing. Alright there Mr. Nando... :smash:

Congrats David! :hatoff:

I would like to see the local boy Ferru winning his home title for the first time this week (he was a runner-up to Andreev there in 2005), and I'm pleased that he was able to fight back in that final set.

Verdasco had 3 match points at 5-4 and on a second serve, hit one into the bottom of the net.

Ferrer just had one match point and took it. Not one of his best performances, but the mentally stronger won got the job done.

I think he will still have too much for Robredo.

Dont joke about such things.

the reason why I added the "just joking" is that I dont want to be misunderstood and have people posting the type of threads that start by "you tard" ou "you hater".

Just because I tryed to make a joke. =/

Ferrer played bad (but fought good in the end)

Verdasco outplayed him but somehow stopped playing tennis in the end of the match

I was at the match today. Verdasco was scared to win, plain and simple. At his own match pt he double faulted and it was all downhill from there....very depressing to see such a meltdown as he was clearly the better player today. The crowd really helped Ferrer alot...95% supported him, not sure why it wasnt more even.

Typical Nando performance. He was better player in overall but somehow managed to lose the match. There were a lot of points in this match (most of the games went to deuce), not a good quality and a lot of grinding.

Ohhhhh Nando. :awww:

Well, Ferrer is one of my favourite players because of the passion and fight he displays on court...I'd imagine there was plenty of that in abundance today. :worship:

Well Ferrer lives in Valencia... so I imagine that had a lot to do with it. Does Fernando live in Madrid?

Thanks for your match reports today.
