It's quite amazing that Djokovic had more points than any other player except Nadal and Pederer, but still is best ranking is no. 3.
It's shows what a great generation this is, unlike what some think.

Djokovic and Nadal both have had greater point totals than any of Hewitt, Ferrero, Safin, Roddick, Moya have ever had. The consistency of those two, along with Federer of course, is really astounding.

The source is the weekly published rankings on the official ATP site, otherwise it wouldn't be possible. The rest was some coding to collect all the rankings into a database and to evaluate them like in the files I uploaded (maximum points, highest rank and counting for how many released rankings this was the case at what dates).
