Juanqui's next tournaments

Alisa

hey guys! does anyone know what next JC tournament will be?

I found out that he will participate in Alliance Suisse Open (July 5-11) as it is written on the official web-site of this tourn. Federer and Novak also will be there...

does any1 have something about it?

Ferrero Forever
06-28-2004, 01:14 PM
i know he's competing in the olympics, and is the tournament for the gstaad tournament on the site yet, because i've tried to look and it always is displayed as being unavailable

JuanChuffy007
06-28-2004, 09:05 PM
And he also said he'll play Toronto.

"Now I return to train on clay and then head to Gstaad and soon I'll start training on hard courts for competition in Toronto (Canada)" Ferrero commented on his next tournaments.

Yep he will definitely enter there - he got to the last 16 last year before losing to Karol Kucera so there is certainly an opportunity to pick up ATP ranking points as well as to get back on track in the race.

i hope he's physically and mentally ready for the tournament - don't want him to worn himself down with too much match play like he did last yr! GOOD LUCK JUANQUI!

Good luck Juanqui. Hopefully you will get healthier and then start getting yourself back up there in the rankings. Don't let Guille be the clay court king!

Even though I am not gonna see the matches over here in North America, I still hope Juanqui can get to the final and play Roger. That would be another dream final.

Lalitha

He is playing Stefan Koubek in the opening round, the player he beat at the second round at Wimbledon after much of a fight.

I saw this result and my heart just sank

What is going on in the world?? Losing to Koubek on clay  , I mean no disrespect but that should not be happening.

I wouldn't be upset if JC was having a good year, but at the moment, he can't do much right.

07-06-2004, 04:57 PM
Is JCF still injured? Probably what has really happened is a drop in confidence. When you have come back from an injury, you are a bit unsure of your body and game. When you then lose a few matches, it's hard to get the mental toughness - and confidence - back. Hopefully he will play a few more tournaments and get going.

I♥PsY@Mus!c

Shocking result for Ferrero! I never ever expected that sort of scoreline on clay! He cant really be tired either as he only played around 3 matches at both Wimbledon and French Open.

lalaland
07-07-2004, 01:44 AM
I'm not that surprised he lost to Koubek, but it's rather sad. He's low in confident understandably. Everyone struggles a bit to get back to top form after injuries, so give him time to gather himself.

Sharon
07-07-2004, 02:27 AM
juan carlos said himself in some article, its just a big drop in his confidence right now...
i just hope he'll gather himself up and do well at the two TMS (toronto n cincy) to get some points before the usopen and tms madrid (where, if he doesnt shape up, could drop his ranking alot)

according to the interview he gave he said he should be fine and is still considering to play cincinatti next week ( i have no idea why he would risk this) so i think he'll be fine for olympics and USopen

PLEASE be the end of injuires.......

plum_juice10
07-27-2004, 03:22 PM
Man...I think that if these injuries keep on happenin for him, say just up to the Olympics and US Open, that he should just call it a year unless he is DEFINATELY fit to play for the remainder of the year, because there is just no point in him playin the matches and just losin them due to injury...it could save him and co. from such upset.

But I do really hope that he does get better because for the rest of the year who can we tlk about if it isnt our number 1 Juan Carlos? Neway...get better real quick JC!!

Liebig
07-27-2004, 10:39 PM
don't think thant playin cincinnati is a good idea... he should better prepare well to olympics and USO cause he has much points to defend in flushing meadows ;)
and athens... it should be the most important tournament for every player, and the next are in 4 years so who could know how and if he would be play then...

So - go well JC!!

~EMiLiTA~
10-09-2004, 11:04 AM
hehe at least you have SOME coverage. In Australia not even masters series tournaments are televised. And the Grand Slams apart from Aus Open are usually on late at night or really early in the morning so it's hard to watch them...for us we can really only see the Aus tournaments on tv...and DC ties

Ferrero Forever
10-09-2004, 11:53 AM
yes, all non-australians do, well from what i've heard about you're tv coverages. This year the ONLY time he was n tv was in the semifinals of the australian where he lost to federer, well that was the only full tennis match, he was on the olympic opening ceremony and a tiny repeat of his loss to the poo and hewitt, and i mean about 2 mins each. And thats it for the whole year, and before this year i had never heard of the tennis masters cup, it isn't even mentioned here.

~EMiLiTA~
10-09-2004, 11:54 AM
yeah, when I was living in Spain this year I really noticed how much more coverage they got on Eurosport and the national channel...and that was just free to air tv...I can't comprehend that cos here tennis doesn't figure on free to air tv. Even just to see 30 sec on the news is hard enough!

Ferrero Forever
10-09-2004, 11:57 AM
30 secs, not even, and if it is it's hewitt won because he's so great or the poo lost, how could he ever lose, he's such a talented player or arthurs got through to the second round because he too is a great player, i don't think i've ever heard reports of arthurs losing though

Trace
10-11-2004, 09:52 AM
I think our tennis coverage is crap. 7 has all the rights to show them. I mean, it had Roland Garros rights, Davis Cup ones and some the other tournaments and they don't show them. The only RG coverage we got was 30 mins each day on ABC!!! And they're so biased/patriotic whatever you want to call it cause they only show the things that Australia plays in/does well in. For instance, they showed the Australia vs. Morroco tie. Really interesting that was, when they could've show the France vs. Spain semifinal. We get practially zero coverage unless we have cable TV.

sorry for the ramble. Am quite p***** that we don't get any interesting tennis on free to air TV.

The tennis coverage here is great, there is usually a variety of matches to watch, I usually can find some player i like. Only time i got mad was this yr at the US Open when they decided to show Henman-Hrbarty rather than Agassi-Federer :fiery: I was not happy with that one, they did not even put interactive on for it.

 to all ppl who don't have much coverage. Like Jogg, I won't rant about Eurosport and TV Sport (who show 1 match a day on Masters Series tournaments cos it's more important to show shit talk-shows with romanian football ppl  ) anymore and I will appreciate all the coverage!
