Well, i'm kind of bored right now, so i decided to look up Roger's career record on all surfaces since 2000. Grass has the best win % so far.

SURFACE WIN-LOSS %
Hard 150-44 77%
Grass 40-9 82%
Clay 54-22 71%
Carpet 27-14 65%

GRAND SLAM RECORD
Australian Open:17-4 81%
French Open: 9-6 60%
Wimbledon:18-4 82%
US Open: 11-4 73%

Thanks Fedex. Not surprisingly, FO is his worst slam, and carpet is his worst surface...

That's surprising, I always thought he does best in grass and carpet.

Well, i think he does well in indoors in general. Has he won an indoors event yet?? Hard or Carpet? anyone know, because his game is well suited on those surfaces.

:lol:Fedex, you are really bored.

Yeah, didn't expect his worst record happens on carpet:eek:
But with the time going by, all these records will go in a more favorable way for Rogi :D

Um Fedex prehaps you missed his Milan 01, Vienna 02 03 Marsilles 03 wins. ;)

well, "carpet is his worst" is a relative statement
winning practically 7 out of every 10 matches he has EVEr played on carpet (or clay) sounds pretty damn good to me. it is bad only relative to his great numbers on grass/hard

I have been doing some searching and I came across this thread, which is ancient now. I will update these, but I will leave my original post alone, just so we can compare Roger's records from then and what they are now.

SURFACE WIN-LOSS %
Hard 232-57 80.3%
Grass 52-11 82.5%
Clay 70-30 70%
Carpet 49-22 69%

GRAND SLAM RECORD
Australian Open:29-5 85.2%
French Open: 14-7 66.7%
Wimbledon:25-4 86.2%
US Open: 25-4 86.2%
Incredible numbers, all across the board. Roland Garros is the only slam where Roger doesn't have atleast a win % of 80. There is a cool Federer-Sampras comparison site that I will post here:http://www.tennis28.com/studies/Federer_Sampras.html

Thanks, Fedex! Really interesting thread. :yeah:

Now his record on carpet is misleading since he barely played on it once #1, what... 1 event and he wasn't event fit! (TMC Shanghai 2005), and only two other indoor events (Rotterdam 2004 and 2005) or is Bangkok indoor as well?

Indoor Hard. I hope Roger can be healthy for once this coming fall. I couldn't take another injury. :scared:

Yes, I would like to see Roger play the Europeon indoor season this year. The last time he played a full indoor season was 03, If I'm not mistaken.
Is Roger scheduled to play Vienna this year? I hope so; its a great tournament, and Roger always plays really well there.

I don't think so, I guess he'll probably pick Doha, Dubai, Halle, Basel and Japan Open as the IS events this year... I'll be surprised if he choose other small tournies.

No Thailand this year?

Yes right maybe Bangkok but he doesn't need it if he does well in other IS tournies  . I hope he'll take care about his health in order to play the European indoor MS events for once...

Apparently he has replaced Bangkok with the Japan Open. Most players will schedule more than 5 little tournaments, but Federer is extremely confident that he is going to go deep in all of the slams and TMs events so he physically can't play more small tournaments.

Like to do an update now, Fedex? You seem au fait with all of this, and how does Federer's compare with Nadal's so far (or from when Nadal started to now). Thanks.
