Guga can received Wild Card in Rome...
He won here in 1999, with 6/4 7/5 7/6(6) in final versus Rafter...

Would imagine Fabio Fognini will get a wildcard here.

he's injured, first tournament he might play is RG and that is doubtful also

I guess Seppi will enter, being 2nd ALT, 1 WC will surely be for Bolelli and another for Cipolla who is from Rome

From Lleyton and Bec Website:

Hewitt out of Rome
Lleyton Hewitt today had to withdraw from the ATP Masters event in Rome.

Unfortunately the hip injury Hewitt sustained in Indian Wells has not responded to treatment as quickly as was hoped, and he will miss another week from the Tour.

Hewitt will continue to monitor the injury in the hope that he can return for the Hamburg Masters event commencing May 12.

I think it does not matter if they commit to qualies or not... You can get a SE spot even if you did not commit to the tournament.

We got into an argument about it. I only remember because you were so adamant that players needed to be on the entry list to get an SE:

As i read kiwi nowhere confirmed your view  His point is that in Masters Series all players entered automatically.

Did you even read that thread (start at page 3). Kiwi said that players must have entered a tournament to receive an SE:

Players can only get SE if they entered a tournament for which they would have to play qualy and they miss the qulay because they are still playing Semis or Final of another tournament. Andy didn`t enter Memphis he only missed the deadline so he took the WC that could have been given to Nishikori. Not nice but Andy usually doesn`t do this. Safin is worse

I told him he was wrong, and then he brought up how every player is entered into a masters tournament, which is a true statement that I wasn't arguing. I was arguing with his first statement, which I've put in bold above. So what if he didn't confirm my view. Doesn't mean he's right.

No worries. I made too big a deal out of the whole thing anyways. Volandri was ranked 53 at the time the Hamburg entry list came out last year. He didn't sign up for Hamburg qualifying, but was still able to get the SE. As of now (after Montanes lost), the only player that is eligible for the SE into Rome is Gremelmayr, who would need to beat Almagro today. This is the case even though he didn't sign up to play qualies. I'm guessing that Gremelmayr would take it, but who knows.

the question for a SE is not if the player sign in for the qualy only ,he need to sign in for the ALT LIST in the main draw .that it was the case with volandri .gremelmayr sign in for the ALT LIST so he can get the SE spot .(BTW the italian site put bolleli in the main draw so maybe gremelmayr doesnt want to play or something )

Italian wild card holder Simone Bolleli no longer needs his wild card. Next on the entry list, the Italian finally made the cut due to the absence of special exempts in this year’s tournament. The vacant wild card was therefore awarded to Croatian Mario Ancic. After a long time off the tour due to injuries and sickness, “Super Mario” has made an outstanding comeback ever since his Marseille final earlier this year. A much appreciated player on the tour, Ancic is getting the help of tournament organizers. Indeed with his Romaine wild card, his total is at 5 this year and counting…
