I officially submit Stefan Koubek as my candidate for new King of choking.

He has made the merits ... and after winning a Slam with 3 five setters, we had to remove Guadio, so.

Has squandered big leads in other matches this year.

This one:

Won 1st.
He was 4-1 up in the 2nd set and lost.
Won 3rd.
He had 9 BP!!!! in 4th and lost them all.
He was 5-3 up in TB and lost.

...and of course he was 5-4 40-15 in 5th, serving: made 3 UE on a row and later lost the match.

He may be the substitute of Gaudio ;)

I actually think that Grosjean will be hard to topple for the crown.

of course, Koubek's loss had nothing to do with Ferrero

Australia 2001, the semifinals against Clement. Choke.

His match in Paris against Moya in 2002. Choke.

Among others.

If Sjengster comes along he can list them. He knows of them far better than I.

now that gaudio is a grand slam champion and won 3 5 set matches, grosjean is the choker supreme

Grosjean for the choker title, but Cyril Saulnier has claims losing 2 sets to love leads more than once.

His best effort was actually against Koubek he led 6-0, 6-1, 4-1, 15-40 on Koubek's serve, had matchpoints in the 3rd set and the 5th set as well and lost the last 3 sets 7-6 6-4 8-6.

I only remembered the AO SF, but I haven't followed him that match...

I still think the Ferrero v Koubek match was the best of Wimbledon so far - well the best Ive watched anyway. Hopefully more of the same from Koubek in the Davis Cup ;) (Not a troll honest :p )
