Most of us watch and support the men's tour, I assume.
But I hope to see some people sign this appreciation thread cos trust me Amanda's really amazing!!
She's not very tall and yet fights very well on court, she never gives up and is a consistent player. I'm very upset that it's all over for her.
I can only pray that she still play doubles or mixed doubles at least....

she was awesome! small but terrible. remember when she thrashed Graf 6-0, 6-1? wasn't that in Hamburg?
All the best, Amanda.

A very fine player during her peak. All the best Amanda, for the life ahead you.

good player with some respectable results and good matches... a long career is over and a likable player retires
(but I think it's good for her because she almost didn't play anymore and couldn't win much the last months)
good luck, Amanda! :)

Amanda has been on of my favourite players of all time!!! I remember first learning about her in the mid-90s when she was starting to really move into the elite players rank. Something about her that was unique. Her height was one thing that made you cheer for her since it showed that shorter people can do anything, but her game was very complete and it was bigger than her size! But it was so difficult balancing my fan fare when she was giving Steffi trouble! I wish Amanda all the best and that she doesn't become a stranger to the tennis community!

She's amazing. With this tall she did play so well. She once defeated Graf so easily, losing just one game. (Berlin 1997 Coetzer def. Graf 60 61) Neither Hingis , Seles , Navraliova , Venus nor Serena Williams could do that.

Amanda :crying2:, amazing player. Good luck. Will Ferreira follow her. Are they a :couple: ?
BTW, Looking at her stats, Hingis was her nemesis

I didn't know that we dare post anything WTA-related here.
However, now that this post exists: Isn't it nice to see Daniela Hantuchova
fattened up & in-form again? :hatoff: :clap2: :yeah:

I wish her good luck for the rest of her life!

Awww. It's sad that she's retired. :( But she had a great run. She's the same height as me and was an awesome player at her best, so much respect from me. :)

I've been known to say things such as "Do women play tennis? I didn't know that!"
And I don't really enjoy the womens tour, but I do like gutsy players, and she was soooo gutsy! Nice girl :)
