I know, it sounds ridiculous, but I cant wait, and its true, hes going to enter some tournament in Russia and then move onto bigger things.

I mean golf is something that requires concentration, and patience, attributes im not sore Yevgeny has in abundance. Cant wait til he flips :haha: :haha:

He always liked to play golf and so does Tim Henman. They seem to be the best at golf of all tennis players. I'm just glad he does things he like now he's retired. Everyone always said he couldn't live without tennis :)

I know Ivan Lendl did the same and didn't have much fortune, I heard about hsi first pro tournament where he missed the cut and didn't hear again.

It would be great If Kafelnikov does well and qualified for a major golf tournie at some point, that would so impressive :)

Kafelnikov is entering an amateur golf tournament to see who's the best amateur golfer in Russia. There was nothing in the article about him becoming a pro, and he still hasn't officially retired from tennis. Maybe some day.

Its very feesable though and would be great if it happened...two footballers here retired and became pro golfers and I said Lendl did too, not sure if Kafelnikov plays off a handicap or if he does...what it is....if he plays off scratch, he's well on the way, he wouldn't have problem with sponsorship.

cool kaf! i remember at the aussie open in 01 he kicked up a big fuss about tennis prize money compared to golf....maybe thats yevgeny's new agenda

i think henman has a charity golf event as well, in november/december, so i hope kaf plays there too (so henman can finally beat him for once!) :bounce:

Wow! You learn something new everyday! :D Maybe he should not only get together with Pete, but get together with Lendl as well!! The Golf-serious retired tennis pro batch!

What's is it with Golf?? Lot of players in other sports too, after retiring taking up golf.

I wonder how the pro golfers feel about it.

Just remebered a thing... In Dubai a Professional golf club is 50 meters away from the Tennis club that hosts the Dubai tournament... Anyway, when Kafel came here in 2002 (I think) he went to play golf and he was pretty goiod, I must say. Got the ball in after 3 hits.

Well, more power to him! I guess if that's the way he wants retirement, then so be it! Plus, tennis players tend to do well in golf, so maybe he'll be so good that he won't need patience?...
