Goodbye Goran, ATP loses one of its very few characters

I think Goran will lose on Monday, and itll be an emotional occasion. I truly love the bloke, and I was a genuine fan before the most amazing Wimbledon in history in 2001.

Whats even more sad is that hes probably the only one apart from Marat, and possible Roddick that actually is interesting, charasmatic, and really has a great sense of humour. Even though Mac was stupid saying Henman should become more emotional, it does however highlight how tennis has been take over by blandness. I mean could you name anybody at all in the top 100 is that funny??

I dont know the reasons for it either, but its happening in all sports. You are no longer allowed to celebrate a goal properly in football anymore. People actually get sent off for taking their shirts off, I mean what asses are these officials???? All these boring, small-minded bureaucrats are ruining the attractiveness of sport, and tennis in general, and its getting on my nerves majorly??

Does anyone think Im being too harsh or too reserved in my judgement?

I agree. Goran may have been controversial, but he added spice to the game. He is one of the only players who i actually look forward to reading their interview, because you know it'll always be funny. I remember watching amny matches of his and there were all entertaining, with him playing up to the crowd and everything. Its too bad hes had such bad luck with injuries, and with his draws this year. I'll miss Goran when he retires

Goodbye, dear Goran. May Misha beat you in your last professional match. I couldn't imagine going out on a better note, myself. :D

He will be missed.

Yes, it's a pity no-one will be able to follow in his footsteps and form their own stand-up act after tennis, but I'll live with it.

Thankyou for all the memories Goran (except THAT semi against Henman :P ) and I hope you have a happy retirement! Hope to see you in the seniors at Wimbledon in the future :D

I also hope he'll play on the senior tour. I haven't seen him in his prime, but Wimbledon 2001 was great. He could come up with the most idiotic shots at important moments and he didn't care.

I hope he enjoys his life as a father, but will not disappear from the world of tennis.

I think Youzhny isn't that strong at the moment..

If Goran is on a show court,.. the crowd will give him plenty of support.

If he just serves above 50%,volleys adequately, and strings together some returns and passes he should make round 3...

Then Hewitt will be the most grisly executioner to finish this rollercoaster career (fingers crosses its a good ending!!)

Awww. This is sad. I really hope he wins a round or two at least because he really deserves it and playing at Wimbledon is like breathing for him! I wish he got a good draw :( Not only this but it's hard to imagine that someone like Goran is really going to retire. This was the big star-era I'm talking about with Andre, Pete, etc. They're all saying goodbye! I'm still relieved that he won at least one slam, and it's Wimbledon.
Goran did say some things that was not kind to some people, but I hope Goran's health holds up and that he gives it everything he's got so he could look back and say he left Wimbledon and playing while being at his best! They should all be like this :)

Oh no!, Don't predict before it happens. (Though it seems a high possibility) Goran will be always missed and specially at Wimbledon. Hope my channel shows his match.

Goran, U will be missed. You are charismatic, but never annoying.
