Nadal´s doctors told him not to play the tourney...and I was really hoping for a good Roddick/Nadal-"Young gun" match-up in the second round...whatever...

I dunno what´s up with Escude though...

It was announced this morning right after the draw. Escude wasn't even in the draw to begin with actually. we talked about it a little in the thread about the Main Draw. Too bad about Escude, he could've done well and it's REALLY a shame that Nadal's injury has kept him out of action this long :(

poor Escude, he usually does very well in Wimby!

I wanted to see Nadal-Roddick too - I hope this injury of Nadal's is not more serious than first thought :(

And poor Escude must be in the running for unluckiest guy on the ATP.

Get well soon both.

I'm not surprised about Rafael, and it's more of a good thing he's withdrawn because when recovering from an injury, you shouldn't rush back in tennis, a sport which can get really gruelling.

Intially before RG, I read that Nadal is going to be out for 3 months. I wonder why he made himself available for Wimbledon though.

So, some luck loser is going to take his place.
