I wonder if Calleri and koubek will pull out of this one aswell, as last week. It would be great if Luczak would get in. Also Roitman has been pulling out the last few weeks and Spadea pulled out of sunrise late from foot injury. Fingers crossed for one more MD Aussie without having to play Q's

Calleri, well he is meant to be playing, but we'll see and Koubek well as NyGel said, he retired in the match and the disc in his back is playing up, so he is a question mark.

How did Rainer get into MD?

If you looked in the main draw entry list, Rainer has a ranking of 78 at that time and he's first on the entry list. With Baggy withdrew, he got into the main draw.

Hmm, if this had been the case, I think Fish would have played the Qualyfings...'Cause the WCs were given to the players long before the IW final, weren't they?

They might have held a WC for him and put someone in qualifying instead. Or maybe Mardy would have just skipped Miami. He gained a ton of points in IW anyway, it would not have hurt him and he would not have been zero pointed in the rankings for it.

http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_tennisblog/2008/03/donald-young-fr.htmlBobby Reynolds, who like Young lives in Atlanta, is on court right now playing Philip Bester of Canada. The winner gets Donald Jr. in the final round of qualifying and, no doubt, there are those wondering why Young is having to play qualifying at all.

The conspiracy theorists are probably thinking, "This is an IMG tournament and Donald dumped IMG as his agency. This is a payback." No, said tournament director Adam Barrett. "We never received a request from Donald for a wild card. Plus, we've given him several wild cards in the past. At some point, you have to start giving them to other deserving players."

Do you want them to use the seedings from weeks ago, or the most current ranking?

The entries need to be done in advance, although there is a possibility that they will move from a 6 week entry system to a 4 week entry system one of these years. The system makres sense, and it is fair the way it is now.

I think the seeding system is ok, but I didn't get why they are using another date for the entrys. Is it because the players can withdraw in time if the entrys are sooner?

Yes, I understand that. The thing I don't fully understand is that there are different dates for seeding and entrys.

The players need to know a few weeks in advance if they're likely to be accepted into events so that they can plan a schedule, book flights, accommodation etc. If you win a challenger in Spain and jump 20 places and find you've been accepted into Miami the next week, then it's a bit late to plan for it isn't it.

The tournament directors want to know as far in advance who is coming to their tournament so that they can use their names to sell tickets (that's why some of the players sign commitment contracts with tournaments months in advance). Fans also want to know in advance who is playing a tournament because they will be traveling to see it, and no one wants to book a flight, rent a car, and pay for a hotel room if you don't know who is going to be there.
