Ideally, I would place Lleyton Hewitt in all 5 places, but since I cant...
1. Hewitt
2. Bryan Bros (because they're good!)
3. David Hall. He wins almost EVERYTHING in wheelchair tennis! I like him, he's just too good ;)

thats it... I dont hate to see people like federer win, but I think they win enough already ;) lol!

Like Bjorkman Girl I would actually like to name one player in all five places (it would be Roddick in my case though!), but as I can't, my five choices for winners that make me miserable are:-

1. Roddick
2. Coria
3. The ghastly Bryan Twins (does that count as one or two?)
4. Ginepri
5. Agassi

none really.....only those who beat Lleyton or Scud (long list this year) :)

I used to hate guys with big serves winning matches, solely on that ability....I even disliked the Scud because of it, well, mainly when he was playing against Rafter.....but these days I have no problems with guys winning matches off their serve

But i'd still rather see a match with plenty of rallys

Roddick winning angers me so much that I begin to question how God could create a universe with so much human suffering, where innocent spectators pay for the selfishness of the rich and privileged. When I see him triumph over more talented individuals, I wonder whether this is a world that I want to be part of, or whether I should return my ticket of admission to God. But then I realise that I still love life itself, I love the sticky little leaves that appear in spring when Roddick is being schooled on clay, and regardless of whether or not tennis functions according to Euclidian dimensions, the strawberries at Wimbledon still taste quite nice, and existence is bearable.

I don't hate any players for winning a match- they are giving it their all out there, they work hard therefore they deserve to win. If you go out, fight and come out on top, I say "too good, mate". No reason why I should hate a player for that.

However, if a player wins purely as a result of gamesmanship, or by intimidating the linesmen and/or umpire into making a crucial call in their favour, thats a different matter.

I think people hate when a certain person is winning because they feel, obviously, indirectly threatened by them. Like it's your problem! One word comes to mind, resentment, it's so obvious in this thread! LOL, just by looking at some of your avatars and knowing who some of your favorites are and then seeing your answers. This thread is really fascinating in terms of psychology -- interesting

Wow, not even i believed you to be this challenged mentally.  :o  :fiery: :( Nalbandian does win matches, he just cant put it together for the finals he plays in, the big matches. Notice, how he has a 20-7 record this year. And tell me, Great Wise- speaking Naldo, is anyone as injured as much as he is!! I also fail to see any major titles by Roddick's name. What, only one slam, last year!! Boy is Federer seperating himself even farther from Andy :D Cant take more than a set off of Federer, who played at 60% most of the match!! Anything Andy has won, has been deeply overshadowed by Federer's achievments or Coria's or Moya's dominating year. I dont care how many matches Andy wins, but about the tournements, that he hasnt won this year. Next time Naldo, please use the little piece of brain that god did give you before posting :retard:

Hewitt
Arthurs
Phillippoussis
Baccanello

(The only one I really hate winning is Hewitt, but I have to hear about the others on the rare occasions on which they win a match, i'm not sure if i've posted in this thread before either.)

the only time I'll hate a player winning is when they beat one of my favs

but sometimes its too hard to hate, ie Roger Wimby, Marat AO

Hate is such a big word, but I'm not jumping of my chair when one of these guys wins...

* Chela
* Bogomolov Jr
* Lisnard
* Coria (sorry for all the fans... )
* players with no charisma like Jiri Novak and Vincent Spadea

I agree about the 'low charisma' factor, SuperFurryAnimal.

That aside - although sometimes it's involved - ny votes go to:

1) Stepanek. I dislike him on every level possible. I don't think there's ever been a player I like less. So I hate it when he wins.
2) Actually, Sampras would get this spot if he still played. He bored the crapola out of me.
3) And Ferreira would get this one.
4) Chela ties with Rusedski for this one.
5) And Ljubicic ties with Philippoussis for this one.

[I know I kinda snuck in seven votes there...but technically, two of 'em aren't really countable because they've retired, but I still thought them vote-worthy.]

Gasquet

Pete Sampras if he were still playing - like purr, he bored me, and I thought he was the worse thing to happen to tennis in the US - ratings and interest in the game dropped during his reign

I hate to see these guys win:

- Fernando Gonzalez
- Rafael Nadal
- Juan Ignacio Chela
- Martin Verkerk
- Stanislas Wawrinka
- Lleyton Hewitt

Yes, that's six and not five. The first five it's because of their game - I really hate to watch them play. And Hewitt cause he's so annoying on court, even though his game can be beautiful.

since that's my post, i'll answer. yes i like tennis, but everyone has players that they just dislike watching for one reason or another, whether it's their game, their personality or whatever. not liking a group of players doesn't mean you don't like tennis in general, everyone appreciates different things in different players. i don't necessarily get overly excited when these players lose, it just works out nicely occasionally that i don't have to see them on my tv. I'm hardly sitting around rooting for people to lose so that i'll get to see one of my favorites like arnaud clement win a match on espn, i'd waiting for ages. i personally usually watch whatever tennis is on, but everyone has players they like and don't like watching win or lose in any sport.

Who resurrected this ancient Hewitt hating thread?

Sorry Alexandria, but I have to claim this as an Andy-bashing thread. I'm sure he's been mentioned at least twice as many times as Lleyton.

The good news: this means loads of people watch Andy's matches to completion and are totally invested in the result. Whichever way it goes.

There's not a lot of players you can say that about.

Untrue. Back when I still wanted Andy to lose, I rarely if ever watched a single set of his matches to completion.

Do some of you here even *like* tennis or do you just prefer to watch your one or two favorites and only then if they win?I watch more tournaments in person, than I do on tv.
I don't go out of my way to watch Australians because I really can't handle the amount of salivating some of the commentators do. Yeah, some are really talented... but there are two people on the court.

I prefer to watch my favourites. I don't often expect them to win *see signature ;)* and I have low expectations so I don't hate anyone. I would, however, rather gouge my eyes out with a soup spoon before opting to watch Hewitt (With DC being the exception*). I don't hate him winning, I hate watching him. So I don't.*

Only two players for two differents reasons :

1- JCF (no comment, it's the person, the way he plays, the whole package :)
2- Federer (I like the person, but he's winning too much, there's no suspense, when he enters in a tournament, you know that he's going to win. So, let the other players win sometimes Rodger, not only in Roland-Garros !!!!!! But, the guy seems to be very nice and he deserves to be the number 1 in the world, he's the best, no doubt.
