Davis Cup - Which is the most interesting First Round match?zcess81 02-05-2008, 11:14 AM What do you think will be the most interesting tie? Voo de Mar 02-05-2008, 11:17 AM Russia - Serbia This match shows if Djokovic is able to win Davis Cup for Serbia. Jaap 02-05-2008, 11:17 AM Argentina vs Britain. LeChuck 02-05-2008, 11:20 AM Russia-Serbia scarecrows 02-05-2008, 11:27 AM this could easily be merged to this http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=116813 <Blue> 02-05-2008, 11:43 AM Russia - Serbia jazar 02-05-2008, 12:07 PM argentina - great britain, cos it'll be interesting to see how many games we win Iván 02-05-2008, 12:20 PM if murray was playing then i would of picked uk vs argies. Murray showed against volandri last year that clay can be a good surface for him ExcaliburII 02-05-2008, 12:24 PM Peru vs Spain, I definetely think Peruvians will fight, and might clinch a win. DartMarcus 02-05-2008, 01:23 PM Serbia - Russia is the only interesting match! Labamba 02-05-2008, 01:57 PM 1. Russia-Serbia 2. Israel-Sweden 3. Peru-Spain Nathaliia 02-05-2008, 02:20 PM Poland - Switzerland. They play without Federer and we play without Polish Federer (=Przysiezny) :rolls: (I know, it's Euro zone :p) chjossic 02-05-2008, 03:27 PM Could Marat stop the Serbs?... :D I was gutted when he lost to Baghdatis at the Australian Open, he played so well... When he left the court I kind of had this weird feeling he was gonna go and retire.. Bilbo 02-05-2008, 03:30 PM Russia-Serbia Burrow 02-05-2008, 04:41 PM Could Marat stop the Serbs?... :D I was gutted when he lost to Baghdatis at the Australian Open, he played so well... When he left the court I kind of had this weird feeling he was gonna go and retire..... AnitaOlea 02-05-2008, 04:51 PM russia-serbia is about the only one worth seeing for me, mainly cause both countries have good players so the matches should be more interesting second Argentina vs GB, though I think it will be an easy win for the argies. Mateya 02-05-2008, 05:15 PM Just look at the pool results! :rolls: It's not fair that they meet so soon. zcess81 02-05-2008, 05:34 PM The poll is a little, um...one sided. It's a shame that Russia and Serbia have to meet in the first round and not later on. lorenz 02-05-2008, 06:13 PM Russia vs. Serbia of course Jimnik 02-05-2008, 07:20 PM Russia-Serbia jonny84 02-05-2008, 09:08 PM I agree with everyone else - Russia vs Serbia. Branimir 02-05-2008, 09:54 PM Russia vs Serbia by far the most interesting match. I hope Serbia can win, but it's going to be very, very tough against strong Russian side. Horatio Caine 02-06-2008, 12:38 PM I'm going to be different and pull for Israel/Sweden. :p Hard to pick a winner for that one too. Jimnik 02-06-2008, 07:26 PM The tie that nobody seems to be talking about is Germany-Korea. Haas, Waske and Kohlmann out and the hosts might just feel a little vulnerable. Lee is no mug on clay and there's every chance he could defeat Mayer on the first day. Then there's the doubles in which Petzschner will probably partner either Kohli or Berrer. But in any case it will not be an established partnership and Lee has won 8 out of his last 10 Davis Cup doubles rubbers. With a little bit of luck, Korea could be leading 2-1 and then anything can happen on the last day. No doubt this would be the upset of the first round if it happened. Dimonator133 02-06-2008, 11:40 PM anyone know all the Friday singles pairings? If so, link. Thanks. DhammaTiger 02-07-2008, 11:46 PM France- Romania is by far the most interesting one as far as I am concerned platinum 02-07-2008, 11:55 PM Russia vs. Serbia is gonna be awesome. | |
