New mixed fangroups?

For quite some time we have Fedal fans here. But are the new groups budding? Anyone feeling like Djodal fan? Djoderer fan? Perhaps even Fedalkovic fan?

What I might be closest to is Djodal fan. Though I'm not that emotional about Rafa's game, I definitely enjoy his talents and feel for him when he loses. Most certainly wishing him all the best in what'll hopefully be a long career.

Ah, you're longing for Fedeminen, Niemidal, Jarkkodick and so on? No problem, just buy the #3 spot for your compatriot and he'll be included in the top combos. Until then, that spot belongs to N. Dj., unfortunately for you.

No. As I said before, I enjoy watching high quality tennis. If Nieminen does well, that's good. But my self esteem and personal well being has absolutely nothing to do with Nieminen's results. Obviously a good number of Djokovic fans take tennis more seriously.

About buying the #3 spot for Nieminen, I can't understand your point. So Finland is not a poor country, so what? These attitudes you have really are something else!

Then what IS your point? Accept the fact that Novak is there to stay, so either establish some defense mechanisms if you can't stand watching him / reading about him, or just cut the crap about "being interested in HQ tennis", since if that's the ONLY criterion, you don't have a shred of reason to say anything against neither Djokovic (plays excellent tennis) nor the off-court things, namely his fans/box (they have nothing to do with the game itself).

As for Finland's state treasury, not interested in that. The point was that Jarkko can reach #3 only by external intervention, not left to his own devices.

Djokovic plays great tennis, I agree. How could I disagree, the results clearly show that. Only thing I don't like is that he sometimes acts like a jerk and his entourage don't know how to behave. Actually it's just amusing how you and some other Djokovic fans are so in love with him. It's almost like Djokovic is your girlfriend, he can't do no wrong!

1. Not interested in making any kind of "friends" here. I have real life for that (but perhaps you and me define "friends" differently: for me, a friend is a person who you can turn to when you need support and help, and for you is obviously someone that uses the same brand of eyeshadow and wets her pants on the same guy(s) as you - therefore I can never be your friend, since I don't use makeup and I keep my underwear dry);

2. Not interested in talking "University work", or any kind of work for that matter, with people I don't care bonding to;

3. Not interested in your opinion on me, since you're just another hot-headed nobody around here (see 1.)

4. It's really sad you must keep this prosthetic appendage in order to have friends - but hey, things COULD change, you're still relatively young.

5. Thanks for making me a subject of your talks, but no need to bother - those will accomplish nothing, and there's so much makeup brands you could discuss. Don't waste your precious time on me.

Clearly, you have no understanding of he concept of female friendship. but that is to be expected from a small minded person such as yourself. And secondly, The difference between you and me is that I like to look beyond the place where I live and I have friends not only from my hometown who I speak to in person every day as well as my friends from all around the world. I find that a lot has been added to my life by having people in the UK, France, Serbia, Russia, USA etc that I talk to.

And I may be young, but I am sure as hell not stupid. The two are not mutually exclusive despite what you may think.

All in all, you make the rest of the Djokovic fans look stupid and it makes my head hurt.

1. Why should I be interested in fathoming how "female friendship" works or what is it in the first place? I'm a male, and I don't earn my living as a therapist, therefore I have absolutely no use for such knowledge.

2. How come that "not being interested in making friends in MTF" translates into "not having international internet contacts"? You really don't know a first thing about me; there's a HUGE number of Internet venues where one can find people who suit them; and unfortunately, as I said, it seems that MTF is your whole life, since you're obviously putting this place at the center of your Internet activity and dismissing anyone who doesn't do the same. And that DOES make you stupid - but I'd rather go with "inexperienced", since you're still very young.

3. How come I MUST make friends with regulars in Novak's subforum? What's there to read? I did start my MTF days there, and hadn't been coming to GM at all, but after Jelena's win in Wimbledon, the appropriate thread appeared, which oh-so-predictably dealt with "Will Jelena marry - or at least fuck - Jamie", and when I politely asked if that would be the sole purpose of the thread, the moderator of the forum (someone called Jess, I think) said that we'll come round to tennis after we're done gossipping. Since I'm not interested in gossipping, I stopped coming there, since the trend never really changed. (There was really just one decent guy - guy, I repeat - under the nickname "uglyamerican", but unfortunately he seems to be off for quite some time.) On the other hand, another possible place to discuss Novak, namely GM, is periodically full of killing hatred and caustic disdain, whenever Novak does something good - can you recommend a place on MTF where someone I could relate to (in the first place) exists, so I could think of getting closer to the person? Of course you can't, since such place doesn't exist. But of course, I realize you couldn't think of all that, because you're... inexperienced.

Now, what I need to do to get you off my back?

This is actually what I said dude:

http://www.menstennisforums.com/showpost.php?p=5656493&postcount=9

What tennis did you want it to be about the week after Wimbledon? It's been about her tennis ever since, but you wouldn't know or care, would you? We stopped talking about her "love life" with Jamie on July 10. There was a brief resurfacing of it around the USO when we hoped they would play together again, but they didn't. Everything else has been about her matches. I'm sorry we are not dry and boring while we discuss them.

All player forums are fun chit-chatty places on MTF. All of them have chat threads, all of them cheer and gossip. Take a glance at the Roddick, Ferrero, Safin forums if you don't believe me. You came to MTF wanting deep, serious, tennis discussion and you're finding it in GM.

That said, I don't care if you come to the Novak forum or not. If you don't like the people there, obviously no one is going to force you. All player forums have their little inside jokes and silly chatter but they all do mix in tennis talk within that context. You just don't enjoy the friendly nature of it and want it to be all about tennis all the time which is just not how MTF works

Very good. Did I ever try to "remake" Novak's forum into something that would suit me specifically? No. Did I ever complain about the contents? No. I enjoyed it while it lasted, admittedly it didn't last long, and then I moved over, without any thought of public dispute.

And now my back is being ridden for not complying with the "desirable Novak's fan profile". What kind of reaction do you recommend in such cases? To be humbly silent and admit my "persona" is really very nasty and wrong? Fat chance. (Just another item in "That's how MTF works".)

Oh blah blah blah blah. Do I really need to read what appears to be as lenghty as Mein Kamph?

1. You don't know me either if you think this message board is the center of my existance.
2. You also know fuck all about my experience levels and a true gentlemen never insinuates about such matters.
3. We will get off your back when you stop making us look stupid :)

:haha: How could I be into you? I'm not interested in Novak's/Viktor's/Bozoljac's/Vemic's/whoever's pants, nor I pay much attention to subforums where 95% of the contents is the chitchat thread. I'm a grown up man, you know, and when I'm here, I wanna talk tennis, not to scream around in admiration slash hots (that's why we have boppers).

Now - will you leave me be and go back to your girlfriends to scream some more?

Well Gor...farenhajt...I am a grown up man too but you are an idiot. I know who you screem for.

I don't hate Nole. I don't like him. edit: Seriously I'd like to think that my "hate" doesn't define me, even on MTF.

I've had pleasant conversations with Farenhajt before on other threads  He's not the devil.

Lies! adee-gee likes him, yana likes him, I don't think Metis minds him ... Jess has posted a few times. We're chock-a-block with Nolefans. Plus, Fairweather likes Rafa and Rafa fans are thin on the ground in that thread.

I gathered that, I've lurked there before at the invitation of a friend, but when I saw this post, I figured you accepted all kinds there:

Why should I? JM knows I dislike boh Fed and Nadal fans, though not as much as the Safinettes and Duck fans.

There are good people in the Rafa-Fed chat, but it's not the place for me personally. :)

I don't think Farenhajt is the devil either, but I understand him not feeling like a part of the action in assorted chat threads. I can only keep up with two of them and don't even post in Nole's forum (as much as I would like to).

I don't actually believe it's the FANS you mind... it's the attitude. The 'rub it against your nose' thing. It just sucks, no matter who you root for and who someone else roots for... when someone gloats obnoxiously, no matter how pointless it actually is - it's just annoying to the point where you start disliking the player himself. I know it is like that because that's how I started 'disliking' Rafa - I mean, even though I didn't have anything special against the kid, the constant gloating of '06 just got the better of me. It wasn't even anyone in particular, just the general atmosphere that annoyed me. A good lighthearted joking I don't mind - but boy, some people can really spew poison out of their mou... I mean, keyboards.

Funny how certain fanbases have the talent to do that.

What fansbases you are referring to?

Let me try to guess an answer in advance. Surely, the worst fanbase is Federer's own - because you can't really 'rub something into someone's nose' unless the player you root for actually WINS. And Federer wins a lot which means he gives his fanbase an ample opportunity to gloat their asses off.

Likewise, Nadal's fans became obnoxious when he started winning a lot, esp. beating Fed so many times (the same thing happens with Nole now). The more you win, the more haters you will have - not ONLY because of envy/jealousy/whatever, but also because of the gloating of the corresponding camp. Can't speak for others, but personally I'm not a jealous type of a guy - I just hate gloating (which is why I try not to gloat myself, not even as a 'payback', because it just goes on and on in circles like that).

That's my view on it - and what fanbase you were referring to yourself?

Well it's funny in a sad way the extreme reactions that happen when Federer loses, these same gloaters freak out when it happens as if they believe he isn't allowed to lose. It's very easy to support someone who wins all the time. I mean Federer wins the matches, not his fans.

Likewise, Nadal's fans became obnoxious when he started winning a lot, esp. beating Fed so many times (the same thing happens with Nole now). Pretty much it, as for who I don't like, well most fanbases actually, the only difference is the level of dislike.
