Best ATP tournament of his life.
Another 2 sets win after his victory against Verdasco 2 days ago.
Did anyone see the match ?
Maybe Coria is definitely back as he is the only one who won a set against the player from Uruguay.... :p

He must be in good form, Guille was satisfied with how he played against Cuevas, so it quite possibly was an entertaining match.

Coria :worship:

oh wait, this thread isnt about him...

This guy is on fire this week, no doubt.

 Glad I didn't place a bet on this one!
My vCash has been evaporating like ice in the Sahara desert lately... ;)

great win for cuevas!, top 100 now, he has a shot against whoever wins from Gonzalez Berloq, he can abuse gonzalez backhand to backhand and if gonzalez cant run around it and starts slicing he is toast.imo

Cuevas is on fire.

First ATP semifinal by an Uruguayan player in almost 10 years.

Cuevas has been the only vBets Ive actually been winning this week.

02-02-2008, 01:51 AM
Coria must be feeling much better about his loss now :D.

Chucho was an early break up in the first set but after that it seemed to unravel pretty fast.

Marcelo Fillipini has a successor.

Did he earn a place in Top 100 already or does he need another victory?

should be inn the low 90's right, possibly top 90's depending on what players dropped and how much.

Never seen Cuevas play but, nevertheless, I wasn't expecting this.

Chucho (maybe trying to give false sense of hope to Brits) :tape:

surprsingly good performance, Pablo

Dale Pablito. The guy is a very talented player and it's very nice to see him making his mark at tour level. Reaching the SF stage in his 2nd appearance in a tour level event (the 1st was at the US Open last year) is brilliant, and it's good to hear that he is guaranteed to reach a career best ranking in the low 90s next week.

Is Cuevas really good or have Coria and Acasuso totally lost it?

02-02-2008, 10:45 AM
i've seen cuevas play before and he wsa far from impressive. but this has been a great weel for him. how much further will he go?

Cuevas's one handed backhand is a lovely shot.

Excellent tournament for Cuevas here. This is the thing with the real effects of Mr. Disney's "reforms", a player like Cuevas I guess will miss the entry cutoff for the clay masters in Europe even for qualifying, obviously no chance of getting a WC anywhere, so he may miss an opportunity to play against top-level competition at a time he is in good form. It is important here that the entry cutoff ranking for masters tournaments has become lower these days due to the top-8 getting a bye into the 2nd round.
