BT are providing 'Wimbledon Plus'.

From Wimbly webby (http://video.wimbledon.org/wimbledonplus.sps)....

Wimbledon Plus Broadband Service is a broadband video service that allows fans online access to footage from The Championships....

How To Access Wimbledon Plus
The service is available for a one-off fee of £5, with fans able to browse, watch and re-watch the content until the end of April 2005.

The LTA (http://www.lta.org.uk/News/BritishNews/040608WimbeldonPlus.htm) have 250 free logins to give away apparently.

Least I can sit in the office and 'do' something now :D

Nha I have Sky Digital so Im just going to use the BBC's interactive service which was excellent last year - 4 different courts and also loads of stats!

I protest! This is awful. The services that other Grand Slams have free should be not be made chargeable here. Fancy having to pay to see the day's highlights or video interviews! I hope this doesn't set a trend.

Taking into account the relatively poor quality of live feed from other events I personally don’t think £5 is too much to ask.
It gives those who can’t attend the event an opportunity to view more than they perhaps would.
My field of work involves sitting at a PC pretty much all day so the ability to ‘watch while you work’ is an added bonus.
In addition Wimbly is a typically British affair so I have no idea what TV coverage is like overseas.

I don't see anything mentioning a live video feed.

OK you can slap me now! I mean't live audio feed.

There will also be up to 3 live radio commentaries from selected matches from The Championships through our Live Match Commentary feature.

No slapping, don't worry :) I had to read it again too - a live video feed would have been a great thing and certainly worth the dosh. Mind you I have access to a TV at work anyway ;)

I guess what I was moaning about is that the video interviews, which up until now on all GS have been available free, are offered withing this service. I agree five quid isn't much, but it's just the principle.

Know where I'm confused... IBM are usually the official IT suppliers for Wimbly so why are BT offering this service? BT using IBM's technologies now are they? :D

jtipson I completely understand your moan. I guess we will have to see what they can deliver with this.
