Hello,

I hope someone on this board can give me an opinion on the world number 1 ranked junior and winner of he junior US Open last year, Ricardas Berankis from Lithuania.

Ranked 660 and 17.5 years old, he surely isn't surging on to the ATP tour too early. But we know how fast these things can come.

I'm just watching footage from his first round Dallas challenger match against Bohli (lost 4-6 4-6), and don't like the backhand too much. He doesn't seem to have the right heaviness on the backhand side and also doesn't get out to his wide backhand fast enough as soon as Bohli hits a forehand. Although, the latter for sure is a hardhitter.
His forehand and touch seem nice, which of course isn't surprising as we are talking about a junior slam winner.

What do you think of his potential?

He's a talented player, but I definitely think he'll be at a disadvantage because of his height. He's improving, though. He's a speedy little .

1.73 meters... around average... but short for a tennis player. hopefully he grows a few more inches.

That is pretty short. Probably end up closer to 1.80m in a few years.
