Mancini announced the team for Olympics:

Singles
Coria
Nalbandian
Gaudio
Chela

Rafael Groppo-manager of Coria and David-: Guillermo and David have a great desire to go to the Games. They even modified their calendars to travel, because the tour is very different if you're going to Athens or not"

One thing though.......you may just find a bit more opposition if you say "Come on Roddick" here though :p :p

I think Ive been very close to tears around 5 times since I started watching tennis and last years US Open semi between Nalbandian and Roddick was one of those occasions  I watched the first 2 sets in the pub and was loving it! I then came home it was 2-1 in sets and then well need I say more

Yes - I remember it well - even though I try hard to forget it - and I was in tears too  I will see both of them again today at the Stoke Park Champions Challenge (though not playing each other!), but I guess I'll be in the pub too during Roddick's match :p

If anyone brings up that name in relation to David, I'll start to have horrible flashbacks of a certain match

I wasn't aware of MTF when the incident happened and that was probably a good thing.

I'd love to see David with a golden medal!!! Wouldn't it be great? It's a good surface for him and I'm sure that he'll be fit enough to play it.

I agree. I definately don't think he should be playing singles and doubles so soon after his injury and so close to the US Open. I know he wants to represent his country at the Olympics and I appreciate his desire to win a Gold medal in singles - but Argentina have plenty more experienced doubles teams (like Etlis/Rodriguez) who they could call on. Just my opinion anyway.

Iīm agree with you girls...I donīt want that David keep the injury after the Olympics, but when is about Argentina our players doesnīt want to miss anything so if he has the chance to play doubles heīll take it!!!Iīm sure!!!Now iīm reading that Coria is not good, he has pain in his shoulder and his right legin, product of a strong slide in wimbly.....more problem for us!!!!
I want a gold medal, but i prefer that David stay concentrated and get better everyday......

Lots of love

yes saw that, when he was playing his last 2 points, he kept looking at his shoulder ans well was trying to keep it warm.. and it looked that he had pian, but well you never are 100% sure with him...

Yes is true, but i guess o maybe i hope that he let in the past all those stupid things and in this match he only needs 2 points to win so he didnīt need any injury, right??

Yes unfortunately with Coria - he whines so much about "pretend" cramps and injuries, that even if it is 100% genuine now, few people would believe him.

novanora
06-24-2004, 02:50 PM
yeah, sometimes, coria seems that he can get an "Oscar performance award", so i will doubt forever when can i believe him......
and besides david/coria double team, is there any more Argentine olympic tennis double team? such as Chela/Gaudio?
and how many candidates can be chosen to attend the olympics?

bovenbuuf
06-24-2004, 04:56 PM
eltis and Rodriguez is other double team, they were already "chosen" by Mancini according to Ranking. beleive you are allowed to send 1 team accoridng by ranking, and 1 team made of the single players.
and well there are 4 single players chosen by ATP Ranking
