It appears so...

I would say Bud Collins Syndrome is spreading as well. Mats Willander made 3 out of 3 errors. He said Serena and Wenus will win matches against Jelena and Ana.
He predicted Tsonga will win this match. :)

I think he opted that the winner from the match Federer Djokovic will win it.
That is why the title of thread is Nole is getting immune...

There is Wilander's post match interview on the eurosport web page -

http://www.eurosport.yahoo.com/tennis/

all in all this is mental victory for Djokovic, both Rafa and Djokovic could be the number one as Fed doesen't care to stay on that position anymore but only to win the mayors, to reach the record. Being number one does not make you a better player. he concluded :)

Did he really? :haha:

If he did then he has correctly called the winner of the past 5 (at least) Slams before or during the tournament, only to change his mind in his pre Final pick. Good stuff, Bud

Thanks for the link. However, I was disappointed to see Mats so...sober. I still think that Federer has a lot of pride about his #1. He's only 26; Sampras was a couple years older when he really started to care only about slams.

Yeah Matts doesn't really like/trust in Novak I've noticed.

I think Fed's also proud on his no.1 rank as he very well should be.
We've heard Matts, let's see what Novak had to say:

Q. Do you feel Roger's dominance in the game is finished?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: No, I don't think so, no. I mean, it's not possible that only one tournament is changing the history. Of course, I mean, I played amazing tennis here, so I think I absolutely deserved to win, even against him in the semifinals. You know, he accepted in the right way.

Sure, he's gonna come back in a big style, of course. He's still planning to be the best player in the world, so we all know how good is he. We gonna see a lot of him, of course, this year.

Q. There are such small margins between defeat and victory, and you've tasted both in Grand Slam finals now. What do you think was the special difference today that perhaps just gave you the edge?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: I didn't play Roger (smiling).

Yeah, but it is different story when he does the interview with Novak after the matches (especially one after he beated Federer). He doesn't recognise his consistancy in acheiving results.
However Novak's results speak it all.

Does Bud Collins change his mind on the eve of the final every time?
