Seeding at Wimbledon is unfair?

Surely Henman can't possibly be seeded any higher than no.4 this year! Roddick and Federer with their grass court wins must stay no1 & no2- Nalbandian got to the finals so he must stay as no3. Other years the seeding committee have favoured Henman over higher ranked players.

Coria at 3 I should think ;) Well if Roddick gets #2 at Roland Garros...

Nalbandian was 2002 finalist so those old points won't help him THAT much. But anyway Coria is enough in the lead so that he should be 3 even with the formula. The seeds were supposed to be out today but I can't find them anywhere and now on the Wimby site it says the 17th instead of the 14th :(

Well according to the Wimbledon site it's not coming out til 17th June now - so we'll have to wait a little longer.

The 4 seeds always split to 1-4, 2-3 in the halves right?

Argh, if Tim is seeded fourth... :(

Nope, it's random LCeh, so don't worry too much.

The problem is if Henman's seeded 5 though, he gets one of 1-4 in the quarter-finals. That could actually be worse (or better, depending how you look at it!).

Yes it is weird Jazz, and I've no idea why they've done this (never happened before to my knowledge), but I guess it something to do with the injury situation affecting some top players at the moment. As far as I can see, at least 4 top, would-be seeded players have expressed doubts about their participation at Wimbledon this year - David, Marat, Juan-Carlos Ferrero and Calleri. And I guess whereas replacing one see that dropped out at the last minute would be easy enough - 4 would make a fiasco of the whole seedings system. Just a guess anyway.

Ooops - sorry - my mistake - I always think of him as being higher than that. Though as we've already lost 3 players above him already (Guga, Gaudio and Zabaleta) he is not so far away!
