I'm hoping it is a fashion that won't change anytime soon for them because I think they look very hot with the long hair.

Because long hair suits them?

Can you imagine how Rafa would look with a buzz cut, or Roddick with long hair? That masculine latino face looks perfect with longer hair.

No risk really. Though I did find his hair a tiny bit amusing in Melbourne, I just wanted to post a photo of him. Latin/long hair...it's almost appropriate :D

I am trying to grow mine now, if anyone would suit it I would, but people complain saying it looks stupid when it is only about Safins current length. Say I have an "afro". :haha:

I prefer shorter hair over all but some of them suit it, although I would like to see some of them with shorter hair.

But I would love to see Roddick with a ponytail, he would really look cool. :)

If you really want to grow it without those comments, you could always try chemically straightening it, or just using a straightener. Make sure you use a good heat protection shampoo though of course.

Long or at least mid length hair always looks best on guys. :yeah:

Thing is though, my hair isn't curly, it just has a little kink in it, well, at the side it looks like I have horns (:o :haha:), I couldn't care what people say anyway, I find it so amusing though. I have a friend who straightens his hair all the time, but I like it a bit more curly, I like a bit of variation.

Most of the guys in your signature have longer hair, I would like to see Gaudio with shorter hair, I have always thought he kind of looked like Ricky Martin :haha.

I'd have to agree with you there. Guys with completely straight hair just look unnatural, but if it's too curly and you want to do something about it. A natural kink is good, just keep growing it out to fuel their bitching.

To be fair, I think just over half have long hair. :ras: Ricky Martin? Well we need to get him to cut his hair then to prove your theory correct. ;)

Massu is the tennis player I find ridiculously appealing, and apart from the half-naked photos I took of him, I can't put my finger on why. He just oozes something I can appreciate. And Tim Curry! Another inexplicable appeal to me. He's my Sean Connery

(I heard the commentators in the Ferrero-Massu match in Aukland reffering to Massu constantly as Vampiro or The Vampire :o)Very much so! When I was younger I watched a tv show 'Forever Knight' and I loved the main character, a vampire policeman [I think?] Geraint Wyn Davies was the actor. Just male vampires though, none of this Buffy stuff [except maybe Spike?]. Massu is like an exotic version.

...and yes I watch MoonLight as well :o

Hey Kristen - beautiful picture of Nico. Thanks for posting.

And agree about your and VF's assessment of Nico. He's not traditionally good looking, but there is something very appealing about him. Definitely he has an awesome body, but there's that swagger, his eyes are great, and when he's in a good mood, that small smile on his face. :) He's got a good sense of humor too - very dry wit. I always love that in a person. And the grunt is fantastic.

Plus I loved the hair bands in the 80s, so long hair really appeals to me (if a guy can pull it off - some guys can't. But when they can - look out! :lol).

And fyi for those posting about his nickname. He's not called El Vampiro because he looks like one. It's becuase he likes to stay up late - I believe he got it back in his juniors days when he trained with Nano Zuleto.

And when the Nicos practice together, it's always amusing. I watched them in Toronto back in 2006. And Nico A is just funny - saw a lot of his practices last summer in the US.

Spanish people are not latino!

There is a debate over whether or not Spaniards are latinos are not. Depends on how the term is used.

My own interpretation of the word (and for many many others) would include Spaniards.

I don't think so, even us (as chileans) had never buy that "latino" image that was plenty made by the "gringos". Maybe because we're from the last place of the continent... When I heard the word "latino", I always imagine people from central america (like Cuba, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic) or countries like Colombia or Venezuela, but not chileans

NicoFan

Viva Chile - Chileans are latinos too. And I'll have to do some research on the history of the word to say for sure, but I think that the word has a long history - might even pre-date to the use of the term "latins" which originally was used for people from Rome. Give me a week, and I'll get back to you.

I used to think so until I got an Argentine student. As a teacher, I have to say for the record to never use Wikipedia for research. :)

But here I believe Wikipedia is correct. The terms "latin" goes back for centuries and centuries. And is probably where "Latin America" comes from.

And I wouldn't say "especially in the US." Indeed we do. But as we can see here, most countries also use the term incorrectly. When I was in Spain, they got angry if you called them latinos. But I would say that yes, they are latinos.

Got it.

But I highly doubt that today someone from those European countries would say they were Latino.

Words evolve.

Today, many people even from Latin American don't consider Spaniards to be Latinos.

Again, it's an issue that keeps being debated and will probably continue to be debated.

Latino. i think the word for itself can say it all, from latin. and latin comes from the roman empire. so why they're saying that spaniards are not latin. you were the ones that invaded and conquered this continent, almost all the countries from south america has SPANISH ROOTS. or they begun with a pair of spanish thieves. so WTH???

i have a long hair too and it's because i'm too lazy to go and cut it.

Maybe it's because most of the Spanish and South American players are huge soccer fans. The mullet is popular among soccer players and the long hair makes them feel closer to their soccer heroes.
