1) I like his game...and like that he has matured tactically
2) It would be great for him after having two years of horrible luck with injuries
3) I like that he has worked hard to get himself into shape
4) It would be nice for the surprise finalist to actually win

Tsonga because I do not like Djokovic, Tsonga does not come across with complete arrogance. Tsonga has a very entertaining game, and I hope he is crowned Australian Open champion although to me, he is completely the underdog.

I don't want to vote in this poll, because I really wouldn't mind either man winning. I'm as much of a Federer fan as a lot of people on this board, but it is sooooo good to see a final without Roger or Rafa.

I would like Novak to win just because I think he deserves a win, his achievements have been startling, his career Lleyton-esque up to date, his passion for the game evident. I think he plays his opponents well and refuses to be intimidated. I would love to see him win his first title alongside his fellow compatriot Ana.

However, I am British, and as such I would also love to see the underdog come through. Tsonga has had a remarkable run, and I couldn't wish him anymore luck. I honestly think he has had to defeat the best to get to the final, and will have to beat the best to win. He has been such a good sport, and has shown such talent and committment to this tournament.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the final and whoever wins will deserve it in my opinion.

I'll be rooting for Novak as he's my compatriot, plus I've met him and really think he's an ok boy. He has worked hard for this.

On the other hand, I wouldn't be upset at all if Jo was to win it, cause he displayed courage, diversity and skill and outplayed some tough opponents.

May the best man win. I'll enjoy it either way. :)

I don't think of ToJo as having the same type of run to the finals that Jo, Gonzo and Baggy did. If I recall correctly- Thomas did not even face anyone who was seeded until the final. And he was not playing anywhere near the level of tennis imo that the surprise finalists did in 2006-8. Baggy, Gonzo and now Jo have played some lights out tennis to get to the final and took some impressive scalps on the way. ToJo played well- but nothing nearly as exciting.

Do you think it would be "terrible" if Jo won? I tend to think of Jo if he wins as being more like a Guga than ToJo. To each our own I guess.

Korda and Rios I put in a different category. You have the guy who cheated and the guy who was perhaps the most reluctant number one ever. I don't think the dynamics of this final will be anything like that.

Novak Djokovic. IMO he deserves it much more after having won Hewitt, Ferrer and Ferrer without dropping a single set. I think that's pretty impressive and Tsonga... I don't like him at all, his kind of cheeky/arrogant character... well, I know it doesn't seem right to say this when he is playing D'Joke tomorrow, but I'm simply not a djokotard, I just think the only man who has beaten Fed in a HC Grand Slam in straights in the last six years deserves it more than the french.

It's just a fact of fairness.

no no no no no. Let me clarify. I think it would be AWESOME if Tsonga won. What I meant is that it's not going to be AWESOME just because it would be a surprise (hence my reference to how disastrous it was when Korda and Johansson won). Rather, it will be AWESOME simply because he is Tsonga and he is good for the game, NOT just because he is a surprise.

I'm rooting for Djokovic because it will shake up things at the top of the game (tired of Rafs and Roger all the time) and I want to see if Tsonga's more than a case of catching lightning in a bottle. Of course Guga won his first Slam out of nowhere so you never know. I just feel that Djokovic has "paid his dues" so to speak. Either way I'll be happy. Tsonga's awesome.

As opposed to Gasquet, Murray and Nadal? Honestly, both men have had hellish draws here in the AO, and have been battle tested. I'd rank Gasquet and Murray as bigger scalps then Ferrer and Hewitt, different generations. Tsonga's beaten the best of the up and comers.

Wait, you dislike Tsonga because you think he is arrogant but you are pulling for Djoko? Have you not watched Djoko ever? He is the most arrogant player on the tour right now (not to mention his obnoxious family and some of his fans), but his play does back it up so I can't say much.

Tsonga has won over the Australian Open crowd with his flair and presence, Djoko has done the complete opposite. Tsonga will easily be the crowd favorite.

I'm very much looking forward to a final between two youngsters who have never made it to a Grand Slam final before. Much as I like and respect Federer, I think it's bad for the game to have the same old faces in major finals year after year. The sport needs a new Grand Slam winner, and I like both these guys so I will be pleased for whoever wins.

Having said all that - if asked to choose I will choose Djokovic. He beat the Number 1 player after all, and he has been playing so well all tournament that he hasn't even dropped a set yet! I think it is good for the game that another name is in the mix at the top who is a proven Grand Slam Champion, and despite all the "haters" here, I have met Nole many times and he really is a nice kid. So I will go for him, but if Jo should win I will not be too disappointed. Let tennis be the true winner here :)

Okay- I see. Makes sense. :) The ending of the fairytale with a win was one of only four reasons for me- so I agree it is not the only factor. And I still view the Gonzo, Baggy and Tsonga runs as a little different than the Korda/ To Ju runs- but that could be subjective.

As opposed to Gasquet, Murray and Nadal? Honestly, both men have had hellish draws here in the AO, and have been battle tested

Very true- whoever wins tomorrow will "deserve" the title imo. Beating Fed should not trump everything in deciding who is the worthy winner. Then Canas should have won Miami if that is the logic.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?

Tsonga beat the number 2 player too, lest we forget. Also, Federer was on an off-day, and Djokovic really jst had to turn up and make the best of the situation (and boy did he deserve to win). yes indeed.

Nadal is a fiercesome opponent even on hard, and was not making many mistake last thursday. Also, if we go by all the experts that commentated Tsonga win over nadal, they all agree "he would have beaten anyone that day". It's really quite subjective as you put it, but beating federer does in no way entitlle anyone to a title.

Dude, relax a bit. Nothing's wrong with us.
This question is, who are you rooting for! Not who do you think will win. Not everyone is a hardcore Tsonga fan like you and actually like Djokovic to win a slam after what he achieved in the last year (2 SF 2 F in GS). He certainly deserves it.

There so many guys claiming Djoko deserves this title because he beat federer, whereas Tsonga had to decimate half the top 10 (Murray, Gasquet, youznhy - in top 10 now- and of course, Nadal) to get to that final. I am rooting for tsonga, but will not be disappointed if Djoko win because finally after umpteen years it wont be a federer x final, and that's gr8 to bring back interest in the game.

Back to NOvak, I just think, as someone said, that he's paid his dues and it's time for his rise to become a reality. He's almost certainly a future #1 and multiple Grand Slam champion, and it will be exciting to see a few Slam winners at the top of the game.
