No.

People got sucked into his late-2007 run of results...he is CAPABLE of winning a Slam, but he is one of those players that probably never will. Doesn't have the necessary mental / physical fortitude or motivation (in training - which is important).

Why not, anything can happen, when The No 1 and No 2 are not able to win a set in a GS SF.

We will see at RG

Exactly. I hope Bandy wins Roland Garros. I wonder how he would fare against Nadal on clay. They've played each other on clay right? And it's obvious that I want Bandy to win soon.

nope. he is not young anymore.

I definitely think David should have won a slam by now. He and Jennifer Capriati both choked away the 2003 U.S Opens.

Do you think he'll win one?

nope. he is not young anymore.

The other minute you were going on about how great he is.

He has the talent to win one and I hope he does, either way I won't be surprised.

A poll would have been nice for that one just to see the percentages.

Anyway, my take on this is ..."No".. considering the field out there, more young players already more consistent than him
I know he had a god run at the end of last year and it proves he really has some huge potential but somehow my gut feeling says 'No'...

Nalbandian can beat anyone on any given day if he plays his A game but the problem is it`s difficult for him to play his best for 2 long weeks.I don`t think he has to consistancy enough to play really well for a long period of time

He might.

He should have, lleytonfan, won Wimbledon against Hewitt years ago.

He can.

Probably should have one by now.

David will end up his career with more slams than Sampras.

Yeah, with his final French Open at the age of 40, beating Jan Silva in 5 dramatic sets

I don't think so, as much as i would like to see it. He's certainly good enough, but he's lazy. He doesn't have that drive, that full 100% motivation. Let's face it, if a big motor race was scheduled for the same day as a GS final, he'd probably tank it, just to get out early! ;)

he wont.. i hope he wins and changes my mind.. but i got tired of waiting and getting ilusion so maybe he could do better now he is not counting on me and feels no pressure :rolls:

I would say that he has more chances in Wimbledon and the US Open than in Roland Garros. But who knows.

Probably on this next 1 and a half season he will have his last chances. After that he will probably loose an important amount of motivation.

Motivation is one of the most important requirements to be #1 in the tour.

It´s not a bandwagon. It´s a Roller Coaster.

Never say never. I thought Blake would never win a five setter but he did. Having said that, Nalbandian going by Federer-Nadal-Djokovic triangle to win a slam is highly unlikely. And let's not forget that Nalbandian plays well against good players but crap against crap players.

Slightly different scenario...

Of course not, he never will.

I don't think so. I think he's already blown the 2 best chances he had. (And I'm not talking about the Wimbledon final.)

I hope so but hard to believe.

04-27-2008, 04:23 PM
Nope. Staying two weeks focused and giving your best in every match is too much for him. Not that he doesn't have the game to win a GS but results&achievements rarely equal talent. They're rather a matter of consistency.

I think he will. When nobody will expect it. It's his tactics against MTF posters :).
