MUTUAL REPECT between Tsonga and Novak Fans

This is something I really wanted to point out. Many of you probably know me as the number one Tsonga fan. For those of you who have stuck around before the start of this open until now, and those that'll bother rumage about to look at my past threads, you will know I did not jump on the Tsonga fanwagon, but was the only guy backing up Tsonga from the onset, even to despair point at times. However, since Tsonga has won many new fans over (and geez that wagon is filling up like crazy), none so far has shown any sort of agression towards any other fan, and there is no ongoing feud involving them. It would be nice not to have a similar situation to that of the Nadal and Roger fans. I hope all disscussions are kept civile after the final.

I wish both Novak and Jo Wilfried the best of luck at this final. Both would deserve to hoist that trophy back home.

Nole fan here - I second that. Let's hope for a great final. Tsonga has been fabulous this tournament, seems a great guy and thoroughly deserves his place in the final.

You think there's mutual respect between Federer and Nadal fans on here?

I know you haven't been here long but...dude...

This open has been quite a revelation, maybe the year the young guns take over who knows.

Ah.

My bad.

I missed the little NOT in there.

Sorry, apologies, you're right.

Good luck with that - it would be nice if they showed mutual respect but we'll see if it happens.

Carry on :hatoff:

I think it's great that two young guys who have never won a Grand Slam are contesting the final. There will be a new Grand Slam winner by the end of Sunday and that is great for tennis :) I like both players - will be cheering for Nole on Sunday because I think it is "his time" to step up and win a Slam. But kudos to Tsonga for getting to the Final - he is a great prospect and seems like a nice guy. Good luck to them both - tennis should be the winner.

Tennis should definitely be the winner. Both have such an agressive game and can conjure up a magnificen mix of sublime shots... I'm already relishing it.

There can't possibly be any enmity between JWT and Nole fans. They've both already accomplished so much in this tournament and they've done their fans proud a million times over. I like Nole more, but I just want to see high-caliber tennis.

mutual respect between two no-names. Come on, they never won a slam and are very young up-and-coming, what are you talking about. NOthing is at the stake so why there wouldn't be "respect"

And they both don't realy say anything on court, Tsonga having teh more flashy game for sure, but similar as Novak very neutral style-wise

I agree. I think Nole should win this since I feel he deserved it based on season consistency in his performance. Not that Tsonga is not consistent but he's yet to prove that. I'm actually anxious for Nole if Tsonga played like he did with Nadal during the finals. But, considering where Tsonga is now, he's already a winner. I suppose another fanbase wouldn't hurt-I think outside the games, it's the fans that make the sport more interesting..and sometimes, we can't help but be biased to our faves.

Well of course they share mutual respect. Tsonga took out Nadal. Djokovic beat Federer. Why would they NOT respect each other when the prospect of a Fedal-less final means that their favorite has a better chance at winning the title?

But I'll say this: just wait till after the Sunday final ;)

I like the tone of this thread. After all agresive post I think this one is really refreshing.

The final match was very exciting. Great tennis, nice success for both players.

In the tonights Serbian news there was an information that Novak and Jo had dinner together after the final. :)
