just shows the intelligence of some ppl in this forum, djokovic hasnt even surpassed nadal, first surpass nadal, and then try to beat roger, but not with that kinda asthma problems, if he played nadal he wouldve passed out.

Because Fed can't beat Nadal on clay, and now Djoko has shown that he can outplay him on hard. Fed still has grass, but even Nadal pushed him to a 5th last year.

i guess all the roger haters are coming out, well see if djokovic can even come close to winning as many slams as roger, plus i dont think this is the end of rogers run, if he doesnt win a slam this year, then ok ill start to think so

yea but what makes you think djokovic wont lose in a hardsurface GS, federer has overcome so many challenges, i dont think djokovic can do the same, hes going to lose to players, hes not going to play federer every time or nadal everytime

I'm not even close to a Roger hater, but it is clear that his dominance over the sport is probably over.

people jump on the first bandwagon they see.

however, federer's "81-4" seasons are over since last season. Don't expect them to come back. He will still win 6-8 titles per season, with 1-2 slams and 2-3 masters series per season for some more 2-3 years. Not sure about 2 grand slams in a year tho hehehe.

His dominance is over, that is clear, but to say he will not win any more GS's is preposterous. <----(Did I spell that right?)

Djoko has made the semis in the last 4 Grand Slams, and the final in 2 of them. He is quality and consistent in the Slams.

i mean, im actually not sad or mad roger lost, cuz i thought he deserved to lose wiht the way he missed all his chances lately, since the us open, but you guys are jumping to "hopeful" conclusions

High standards. 14 straight semi-finals for Federer, and (I believe) 10 straight finals before this. It's hardly an end of his run (maybe a slight decrease in dominance), either Nadal or Djokovic still has to get that number one spot from him. Federer's usually been more comfortable at the US Open than the Australian Open (aside from the anomaly of last year's AO), so you can't really compare it. Wimbledon, Nadal's been the only one to really challenge him.

Only the most optimistic fans thought he would win 3 GS a year until he is 32 years old.
Not winning 3 a year doesn't mean he can't stay #1.

The dominance he had for a couple of years is over. That ain't coming back.

He can and will still win titles, and probably slams.

I just don't think you can pencil Federer in as the overwhelming favourite anymore away from clay.

He's now more like Sampras - a great player who can, on his day, be beaten in these events.

When Fed gets shut out of the slams, then it is time to worry. Until then, his dominance may be over, but not his "run."

Just to be clear, I'm not saying Fed's career is over, all I'm saying is his clear and ridiculous dominance over the game (expecting to win at least 3 out of 4 GS, etc), is.

please he meets a decent player at wimby and he's out in round one. his dominance on clay is also over. no one can win forever even roger lost his AO crown today.

Winning every Grand Slam in the last 2 years not on clay is dominance.

His streak at Wimbledon is only 1 year longer than his streak at the USO, and he has only lost the AO once during this time. His dominance on hard was just as evident as grass. Last year he was pushed to a 5th at Wimbledon as well by a guy that nobody thought would be such a threat on grass.

all we know is he will never win a golden slam, a calender slam,. a roger slam or a calender slam.... he may still have a chance to win a career slam though.... though i think not only nadal can stop him on clay....

People don't realise how fortunate they are to watch a player like him. The first match I ever watched was in university, Sampras Agassi, about the same time of the year at the AO. Agassi won, but they played as if it was the finals.

I wasn't happy to see Agassi quit or Sampras. I know some hated them for their domination, but when you realise just how fast time flies, it passes in the blink of an eye.

Federer is an amazing player, once in his generation. It's easy to tear down when you forgot how hard it was to build up in the first place.
