I hit with Jesse Witten as warmup for a ProAm mixed doubles (Mike Yani was my partner) and it took Jesse a year to recover from the damage I did to his game. ;)

I hit with Horia Tecau for about 15 minutes in 2006 before Ilija B. kicked us off the court. I was sucking wind like I had just run a mile. He hit the heaviest ball I had ever dealt with and it nearly killed me (in between laughing our heads off at how badly I suck at tennis).

Justin and Jan-Michael have both promised to hit with me 'some day' so I've got that to look forward to, but both have said they will only do it if I start playing regularly again which I haven't done in over a year. Perhaps I'll dust off my racquet when the rain stops. :)

Despite the rumours, none of them has ever hit on me. A few others have, but I will never mention their names.

I don't know how much longer his back can take it. He's been hitting a lot down in Melbourne, trying to stay in some kind of shape for a few exo and Senior matches here and there I suppose.

Yeah, the weather really sucks, but we need this rain desperately. Would love to see Folsom Lake all filled up again.

I'm pretty sure his diving days are behind him, even on grass. I hope so anyway.

By the way, I love your use of the transitive property in the first post.

My brother has a friend on the Cornell tennis team who claims he once trained with Djokovic and he said Djokovic was not that good and was a real asshole. My brother honestly said that, I have no idea if the guy is telling the truth though. My brother likes Novak so he wouldn't be making it up.

As a junior I hit with Bryan Shelton and trained w/ Serena Williams at Rick Maccis, when she was 13 I was 12, even then she hit the ball so hard and physically so strong. I played Joachim Johannson in the 12s Orange Bowl, I just remember he was this big kid, and had the biggest kick serve I had ever seen. I played Roddick numerous times in juniors, played him in the 12s, 16s in doubles and the 18s, and I actually still have the tape from the 18s.
Played in a pro-am against Stan Smith, Gene Mayer and Mal Washington. Despite their age, all these guys hit the ball so cleanly. I too played Warburg and Delic.

As a junior I hit with Bryan Shelton.

I remember him. He had fast serve & nice attacking game and is still a record holder in the longest winning tie-break on clay. He beat surprisingly Emilio Sanchez 7-6(16) 4-6 6-3 in the 2nd round in Bologna 1994 :yeah:

here is a funny story about Serena Williams, so first time I hit with her, we rally from the baseline, then after about 20 minutes, I go ahead and take volleys. Well...when I come to the net, Richard who is on the sideline, is directing Serena to hit the ball harder and go ahead and "Hit him, Hit him Serena." Richard sees that I am struggling at the net w/ her pace, despite that he continues on. I will never forget this the next thing you know, Serena starts just annihilating the ball, knocking the cover off it, I am bascially about to fall over b/c the ball was coming so hard, as I am on my back foot. I was a skinny small kid back then and Serena was physically superior to me. But, she did not let up, luckily she did not hit me. I will never forget that.

Not me personally, but i know people who have.

A friend of mine on my high school team has hit with Grosjean, Spadea, Ricardo Mello, and has Jesse Levine as a friend on Myspace.

Another one of my friends has a picture with him and Marcos Baghdatis when Marcos was about 15

I beat Ellis Ferreira in doubles 6-2 in the 3rd last year.

I haven't scoured all of his records but I'm pretty sure it gives me indirects over almost everyone on the tour (if you carry over doubles to singles).

I've hit with pros on two different occasions and both times, I was a naughty boy!

The first time was in 2002 at the charity event in Cape Cod that Tom Gullickson hosts. I think it was called the Adidas Tennis Smash. So I hadn't played much tennis before and had just gotten into the game but got to hit against Rod Laver, Stefan Edberg, Jan-Michael, the Bryans, Stan Smith, and Jennifer Hopkins. All of them were really nice. Jan-Mike came up to my group and asked if it was ok if he hit with us. I thought that was so cool. He then basically dared us to try and hit Jennifer. Well I thought he was serious so the next time I went to hit, I swung it like a baseball bat and hit it off the court where Jennifer was standing. I nailed her in the back. Jan-Mike was cracking up and then said, ok, someone needs to take a break now, just kidding!

The 2nd time was something I briefly mentioned on the forums before. I was at the RCA's in 2004 and they used to have this event called tennis at the market. A couple pros come and they set up a court on the brick market street. So I was one of the two people in the crowd asked to play and I was paired with Robby Ginepri. My opponent was another Matt and Sebastien Grosjean. Well on the first point, I hit the ball in the net as I was extremely nervous. So the next point, Sebastien hits a short lob to be nice and me being competitive, hit it as hard as I could and nailed him right in the head. The entire crowd laughed and Bud Collins, the announcer, also chuckled and told Sebastien he underestimated me! We wound up losing 4-3 in a half set that ultimately went into a tiebreaker but it was a lot of fun. They then had me play again with the sponsor of the event against Robby and Sebastien and we held our own. I did almost take out someone with my racket as I ran crosscourt for a ball and there was not enough room!

I'd love a hit with Mark sometime but I doubt it would happen.

At my local tournament, one could generally play a bit with some pros who were TOP 200/500 provided they accepted to take some times with the youngsters. The most known from them is probably Nicolas Escude who was 18 at that time. Not only did he took the time to play but also to answer our questions about him and stuff about the ATP tour. A classy guy.

 Are they getting married?? Did Jennifer retire a couple years ago? Her name kinda disappeared. Can't believe how the Bryans rose up so much after that year. Is crazy to think about that!

And RE: Bud. Um that would make me a very bad tennis player if I hit him in the chair!

WTA player who was nationally ranked in the US top 50 but never made it through the pro-ranks because of injury. We played table tennis and she absolutely destroyed me. What impressed me the most were her reflexes and hand-eye coordination which were ridiculously quick. She was a slight girl though, so she couldn't really generate enough power off the ground to keep up with the big women dominating the tour. She's retired now, has a coaching job for a college team.

I played a doubles match against the Mighty Fed when I was around 12 (he was 11 at that time). He was playing for the Old Boys Basel Juniors squad, but I can't even remember the scoreline. However, it surely wasn't a complete blowout, because if we had been blown off the court I would surely remember the match. A year later we played again against Old Boys Basel (this time featuring Marco Chiudinelli), but unfortunately I twisted my ankle the week before. I was really impressed by Chiudinelli, he was playing like a freak.

Kinda sad that I didn't know at that time that he would turn out to be the soon-to-be GOAT.

do women pros count? When I was 16 years old I played first round and lost to Mrs Baba Lewis, #1 ranked NE England player, had won the Candian Open twice, and made Wimby quarters, I think. It went down in history as the fastest match ever..... we had a great warm-up, I joked after, "I left it all in the Warm-up..."I had been suppsoed to play in the 18's and under but it got canceled at the last moment, too small a field, and she lost her bye, and got ME!!! It was an experience, I survived.

I have hit with Jeremy Bates, a former British #1, as he is performance director at one the places I train at, on several occasions. He is a very nice guy, and knows his stuff. As the LTA brings quite a few players there, I have also played practice points against Naomi Cavaday (a British girl).

I have hit with Jeff [Coetzee] several times too, in Sutton and Wimbledon, generally whenever he is in town. I remember after the first time, I got home at around 4pm and slept until the next morning, he was training properly and we played for around 2 hours.

I have hit with Jim [Thomas] as well for a bit, before one of his matches at the Surbiton Challenger. He brought about ten rackets to the practice court which I thought was a bit extravagant!

I haven't but I have several stories about that

I often practice with a guy who played (and beat) Florent Serra when they were young

Another friend from Luxembourg hit with Anna K during the Lux tournament in october. She just warmed her up.

And finally I have another friend who hit with Mary Pierce, still in Luxembourg, because her won a quizz game organized on the tournament's site

I played a USTA event against a guy who played the satelite tour. I don't remember his name, but he was phenomenal. He quit because of knee issues. We spoke for a few minutes on changeovers because he was having his way with me. Remember how Monica Seles would just unleash a groundstroke the level of nuclear bomb to the service box corners? That was the match in general. I lost 6-0, 6-0 but hey, I got to play someone who made it as far as the satelites! I think that is a pretty cool stat in my tennis lifetime.
