F*cking EXCELLENT match! Total domination by Nole, except for some (exciting!) slippage at the very end. First set: a coach spanks a novice. Sheer brilliance: 5th game of the 3rd set - Nole decided to break Ferrer and doggedly persisted, playing 4 wonderful points.

Now - if anyone has any doubt about Novak's current form/level OR about the fact he's ripe for Federer: think again :)

Djokovic was too consistent and aggressive and served really well when he was down *0-30 a few times. Ferrer, far too inconsistent and loads of UFEs off both sides, he couldn't find his shots and struggled with his rhythm on his service games, and the net cords didn't help much. A late wake-up toward the end of the third set but it was too late. Overall, a disappointing match, I think most of us expected it to be far more competetive.

Highlight of the match: At the start of the match, Djokovic complained to the umpire about a crying baby in the stands who was throwing off his concentration. Steve Ullrich to the crowd, "Please give our crying baby a bottle!" :worship:

Djokovic into his first AO SF!

Third set -> quite interesting

Thank goodness he finally won that set or it very well could have gone 5, once Pics got into it. :tape:

Still through without dropping a set, but he needs to keep up the first set form to have a shot. Not the third set form.

bit of a pansy rollover there from David

didnt start playing till the end, now get ready for some power in the next match DjokoEgo.

Too bad David only showed up for the last 20 minutes. I guess he learned a valuable lesson today. To beat the top players, you need to be at the top of your game for the entire match and take your chances, because they don't come along too often.

Fernando Gonzales defeated tommy hass 6-1 6-3 6-1, and Roger federer defeated Fernando Gonzalez 7-6 6-4 6-4...and mind you tommy is wayyyyy beter than Ferrer...I am not saying Djoker doesnt have any chance against roger (assuming he gets thru blake)....but i found it totally unnecessary to bring fed's name in ur post....typical fanboy huh...

Yes, the Crasstastic 4 are the most obnoxious entourage outside of the crew that went with O.J. Simpson when he attempted to get his "stolen" memorabilia back in Vegas.

And after that pathetic, immature display where Djokovic complained about a BABY crying of all things, his new name: Novak Diaperitch.

Ferrer played like garbage. Blowing a 40-0 lead in his service game, after a few fortuitous net cords for Count Cheatula, spelled doom for Run David Run. Ferrer played HORRIBLY. And I'm telling you now: had it gone to four sets, as amazing as it seems-with mental midget Mary Carillo ready to coronate the Count before the third set was complete-the Count might have suffered a tremendous defeat. But then again, you never know, perhaps he was upset because he was again snubbed by the Academy when the Oscars were announced today:

Best fraudulent injury: the nominees are: Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Jelena Jankovic, and Justin Henin

Pencil the Julio Egoglesius for a three to four set meeting with Buttzilla, a.k.a. Dr. No.

I am starting to like you! But I cannot understand why do you watch his matches when it is bad for your health? :p

p.s. you missed one thing to complain to: Djokovic yelled at crowd before his serve at 40-40 in last game of match. They were advicing him how to serve and he was so pissed that he yelled at them :)

His antics started earlier than that: the second/third point of the match. He looked like he'd been denied his due when, after his drop shot clipped the net and didn't go over, he turned to his box and threw his arms up in disbelief. A point later, he was even more annoyed when Ferrer's own drop shot went in.

In the end, I was very, very nervous. There's no excuse for that and I was behaving really, really badly.

Not really, they were telling him from his box to play slowly and not rush points and he said back : Slowly, slowly, I can't play slowly

But you'd only have to drop two of the letters in "classy" to describe him quite adequately :) In my opinion.

I'll let you decide.

This AO has quickly reminded me of why I can't take to Nole. I was edging toward indifference. But now he's back - winning matches, giving press conferences. Annoying me  I have a feeling this will be a difficult year for me, Djokowise.
