Blake was on fire today, he was great on serve and return, Cilic didn't manage to break his serve at all. After his struggle against Grosjean, this was a great win for him :yeah:
Marin  He is obviously improving, and I expect big things from him this year :)

Marin played solid, but was bad on the key points.
Blake got this one on his experience,in a year or two Marin will win this kind of matches.

Congrats to Marin for a great tournament.Hope he keeps playing this way because if he does the year will be awesome for him :)

Oh I am so happy for James Blake!!!! He's turned many corners this tournament. It was not his first 5 set win, but it was one of the first, and now back to the QF of a GS for the 2nd time, playing Federer, and I think he is playing very well. I expect him to get at least a set in the quarters.

Wow, who would have predicted James would be the best American men's player this AO? Great job.

I hope this brings some people back down to earth. I said those things before because I could see this coming from a mile away. Marin could well reach the top 5 in his career, he is a very talented ball striker. It's just that one win over a very out of form and injured Gonzalez does not set that in concrete- especially when it's followed up with a straight sets drubbing from Blake.

Expected win.

Cilic overachieved to get this far.

Cilic is overrated IMO. Moves like a slug on court.

Just as one win over a top player doesn't automatically make him a unbelievably great player, one defeat doesn't make him a crap player either.
Overrated by who?

He has potential, his movement needs to improve and he also needs to work on getting fewer UE and the serve percentage but he's got potential to be a top 10-15 player for sure.

Regarding this match I feel he would stand a much greater chance of pushing Blake if it was played on Rod Laver. I think the wind bothered his game a bit more than James'.
But no excuses of course, Blake was the better player on court and he played much better today than what I've seen in the Grosjean match.

Great job James! This should get you back into the top 10 with a bunch of guys dropping in points. Good luck against Fed although all my vcash is going against you. Sorry!

Fantastic tourney Marin! Wins over two seeded players is great even though one of them was AlMUGro. I predict top 30 by the end of the year but that's probably an underestimate.

With a bit more experience, Cilic will easily take care of Blake. Whereas Blake will not improve much from this.

I'll be expecting bagels from Federer

I think to be a top 5 player these days you need really good movement - Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Davydenko, Ferrer - all excellent movers.

Cilic in comparison moves like an old man.

Sad day in tennis when this limited Blake wins a match

Disgusting the way like Blake plays

It is rare to see an intelligent match for James but it happens from time to time. This was one of them, exploiting the difference in movement and experience in dealing with the wind. Great tournament for Cilic here.

Good point. Out of the current top 20 players, I would consider 4 to be poor movers, and even that is being generous. Unless Cilic has huge weapons to counter his footwork, then he's not going anywhere near the top 5.
