~*A Jo-Wilfried Tsonga forum*~

After his run to the quarterfinal (he may go farther!!), I think Jo deserves his own forum. After he won Sydney doubles with Richie, I wondered why he didn't have one. Before I put in a request in the player forum thread, I'd like you all's input. Is he ready for a forum? He's not ready for his own forum? or He'll never amount to anything and doesn't need his own forum? I am posting this here because I assume we all like Jo since he is good friends with Richard, believe he will have a great future, and I assume not many harbor any resentment after his last match with our Gasquet.

hmm I guess you can ask in the request section, not here. :p ;)
Actually I want to request Kohli's forum too!

Well, I wanted to make sure I'd have support before I asked in case I get no votes. :) I also wanted to make sure people would actually post in it.

Yep both those guys (Jo and Kohli) deserve their own forum, but I think nothing has been done about the forum requests for 6 months...

But in fact it's unfair. Even Mathieu Montecourt has his own forum. I think Tsonga and Kohli more deserve to have one. Well maybe not right now, but if they both keep improving significantly in this season, they should have their own forum. :)

I feel like Gilles Simon "deserves" it as well judging from his ranking, titles and recent results.
But with all the bandwagon jumpers, Jo probably gets one before him. No offense, Jo.

Why are we discussing it here anyway? Strange place to start such thread since Jo just took out Richie.

Kohli forum :bigclap:[

BAck to Jo - he certainly deserves one as much as others who already have one. He's not my favorite Frenchman but I know he has tons of fans and they deserve a place to cheer him on.

There were five posts on his thread between 3 September 2007 and 4 January 2008 which clearly proves that he needs an own forum. :p

Somebody asked the same question in the appropriate place, which is Jo's thread, this has really nothing to do with Gasquet and looks like a provocation here the day after he lost to Jo... It's a very legitimate question, but discuss it with Jo's fans, maybe it will bring his thread back to life.

(I don't see why you assume Gasquetaires would like Jo too just because he's a friend of Richard. They're so different, gamewise, characterwise, why would a Gasquet fan be so likely to be a Tsonga fan?)

So it's a different story, nobody ever said 'Montcourt is a fantastic player with a great future, he deserves his own MTF forum'.

I was wondering about that too  Maybe it's the doubles title they won and those pictures they took together

Anyway, if there's a poll in forum request section... most of the voters would vote "yes" simply because his results in AO. He sure has some fanbase in his own thread, but there are lots of bandwagon jumpers on MTF right now. Not that I'm against the idea of Jo having his own forum or anything. I like him and I will vote "yes" if there's a poll for it. But it would be nice to see if "his fans" can bring Jo's thread back to life as Truc said and see if it's active for more than a few months after AO.

Brilliant question. :worship: However, it is possible to admire different things in different players, e.g. I was and still am a Safin-fan and gamewise and character-wise he is very different from Richard/Roger. However, I have yet to find something to admire in Tsonga, apart from his French, which is so much easier to understand than Richard's. :)

Yes I agree but I guess Blackgirltennis thought Gasquet fans could be Tsonga fans as well. Actually I admit Tsonga is good and maybe he deserves to have his own forum if he keeps improving, but I'm not his fan either.
I'll ask a mod to move this thread to French forum.
BTW which place is appropriate?

Well, Roddick fans like Blake and Fish because they are all best friends, but their games are dissimilar. I sent a PM to the guy in charge of player forums yesterday asking him to open a thread for forum requests but he has not gotten back to me yet.

why do you think he does not deserve it yet? players who achieved less...(avoiding to name any) have their own forum, since you are one of the moderators perhaps you can answer my question. Who decides for a player to have a forum and what are the criteria? No need for a bullet proof...just a friendly question.

I'm not a mod, but Neely explained the criteria in the last "New forums added" thread. They took in consideration the results of the polls, the activity of the threads, etc. It's not just a question of achievements.

As for Tsonga, he obviously has many fans, but they still hardly post in his thread, it's a bit weird...
