Does anyone else find Nieminen's game to be really boring to watch

I usually don't think this about male players but Nieminen really makes tennis seem boring to me. I don't know what it is about his game but it's not enjoyable for me to watch.

Then don't watch it. I don't think it's boring at all. Should we all start a thread about players we don't enjoy watching?

Who could you be talking about?

I find the huge servers more boring. I quite enjoyed Nieminen's match with Kohlschreiber, even if it was somewhat error strewn.

Sharkface does indeed have a shit game to watch, I think it's a lefty thing.

You don't find 86 mph serves entertaining?

For me I think it depends who he's up against - he's such a solid, dependable sort of player with very little in the way of "big plays", that he's better to watch when you see him against someone different - a bit flashy, or big serving, etc. Pair him with another similar playing style to himself and it can become a bit samey.

You must be drooling over his match-up with Rafa

(Not that Rafa can't be flashy.)

Rafa's different hitting style provides something of a contrast.

Failing that, there's always the ass to stare at.

I'll get by ;)

It's because all Nieminen does is push the ball the whole match.

I don't find it boring. He gets right into it at times... he's not flashy or over the top, and I can appreciate that in a player. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Does anyone know if he has a coach again now? The last time I paid attention I think he had been working with his father a little.

Too bad he forgot to believe in himself when he lead Rafa a set and 4-1 in Barcelona.

This is the problem with him, he doesn't have the belief against the better players.

Good call.

I remember watching that match on livescoring and the Rafa fans absolutely having kittens about the clay court streak.

Who I really find boring is Murray and Nadal more than anybody else.

I like Nieminen's style, and I like him as a personality, he seems like a very easy going guy.

Nieminen is a steady player who gives his shots a lot of margin for error.

Good player.

I hope Jarkko doesn't see what you're writing because he can shoot you now :p

So if you believe Jarkko's game is 'boring', whats he supposed to do?
Is he just supposed to completly revamp his game, start making flashy shots all time to make him more exciting to watch?
This is why tennis is exciting to watch, there many different contrasting styles and temperaments in the game.
Now it would be 'boring' watching most all the players playing with the same style

I do, he is a non-recognisable player

Jarkko's game sort of reminds me of Kucera's game.

I think he is very boring to watch, kind of a pusher. He reminds me of the ATP version of Patty Schnyder, just looping in topspin until the opponent misses. Kudos to him, though, for using his brain to beat Fish and Kohlschreiber.

You have something against Nieminen, it's obvious. Try to get over it, it's not good for you.

probably one of the most boring players currently on the atp circuit at the moment. a scraggy stingy player.
