Players That Shave Their Legs

Last night I noticed Tipsarevic shaves his legs. Mardy Fish does as well. Ferrero use to back in his heyday.

I find it intriguing and slightly mysterious. Like maybe a special breed of human?

Anyone else?

I saw this alot when I went to Madrid. Players like Canas, Nalbandian who you would think like hair on their legs but shave. Apparently my coach told me it's cause it helps the massage afterwards if they have no hair. But then Federer has hairy legs so? It confuses me too.

Yeah, a bit too much hair. :scared:

Safins leg to me have always looked pretty bald. I wouldn't be shaving my legs, even if it helps the massage or whatever.

Shaved legs look disgusting. Like chicken legs. Glad Roger doesn't shave.

Doesn't seem like an issue either way- maybe some do it because they feel better if they sweat a lot? Competitive swimmers and cyclists will, as well.

Except for Fish, everyone looks fine. :)

All the cyclists are shaving them, but I dont know why...aerodynamics maybe?

I tried it once and its the most weird feeling  I couldnt wait to get some hair back. And some friends were making a fool out of me. :silly:

I heard that it's also because if the leg needs to be taped for support, it's more effective and a lot less painful to remove the tape with no hair.

I don't know about cycling but I do know speed skaters and swimmers shave for aerodynamic purposes.

 Speedskaters too ??

They're wearing long suits, why do they need to shave their legs??

Speedskating is a sport where milliseconds matter, athletes will take any advantage they can get. I knew a guy in junior high whose brother competed and he shaved his legs. Incidentally, he went on to win an Olympic medal in Turin.

I'd never shave my legs. I would feel like a woman. I'm a guy :D, who happens to like another guys

Do they really shave it? Rather than Wax or Laser?

I mean, they would have to do it at least once every two days, otherwise it would look awful.

And I prefer Roger's hairy belly anyhow...

Personally, I always get a little sick when I see Roger take off his shirt.

My husband and I were talking about this last summer when we noticed a lot of players were shaving their legs. We also think it's because it's less painful to remove tape or bandages.

Doing it for massage purposes (or for removing bandages) is pure bullshit. They do it for the same reason that male porn stars do it: aesthetics.

And Gonzales, by the way, shaves his arms too.

Do men's legs and arms really look better shaved? Or is it because they think it shows off the muscle definition more?

There was a recent pic of Youzhny on Funny Fotos I think, where his legs looked very shaved. Not sure though.

Homophobic remark?

I think it works for some guys on the tour, but not most. For instance, Fish has one of the weirdest pairs of legs. Ferrero actually looked good for a while with shaven legs when he was younger.

I would never want to deal with shaving my legs, and mine are hairy. I live with it!

I think Hewitt is shaving everywhere. The guy is 26 or 27 and doesn't have any hairs !

I've had hairy legs since I was really young but some idiot at a party recently started shaving them when I was sleeping, looked a mess so I shaved both mine, it's a pleasant change of the norm I guess.

He does! And it looks even more weird because he wears those little socks.

Del Potro also shaves his legs.
