in this next Davis cup leg? I'm thinking about going but it's very expensive and it's the lower tier players I just can't see paying the price...

Well Andy and the Twins should be playing, barring injury or something like that. The fourth spot could be Fish (if you go by rankings), Spadea (if you go by consistency), or Ginepri/Blake/Dent (if one of them has a really great summer hardcourt season I guess)... but yea I read an article with the prices and I was like  that's a lot of money!

You can hardly call them lower tier players though! :)

I shouldn't say this in front of you American guys but if Belarus field Mirnyi and Voltchkov, i think you will be shocked. Sorry. :)

I'm sorry if the team is Ginepri/fish then I would be like :help:

$375/275 for 3 days is a lot of money.....especially since it will be on clay and we're not that good on clay....

I like Max, it's like getting a bonus American. :D

A girl can dream that Agassi will want to play for his country one last time. Yeah I know. :drink:

hmm, Bryan twins, Andy and just for pure  factor Blake would be great...;)

Still a minimum of $300 is crazy for a decent seat. :awww:

I thought there were packages for less!!?! Or you could wait til closer they might have the single-session tix and you could go on just one day or something? But I agree, $300 is craaaaaaaaaazy

jez it's being played on a very slow hardcourt. and in the US... obviously anything is possible, especially in Davis Cup :) but on paper surely the US is favored, assuming Andy and the Twins are healthy and play.

Sometimes (I think) it's sold out very quickly... That's why the tickets are so expensive, because they know a lot of people are willing to pay to see DC.

It's in the USA and it's on clay???

slow hard court, like the one they played on against Sweden

Ok, I just read your last reply.

I'm sure DC is a great experience, worth the price IMO. :)

but it's being held in the stadium where they hold the family circle cup?? That's green clay...unless they are laying down a new surface?? Which would really explain the price. :aplot:

I go to the Family Circle Cup every year and here's the email they sent me about the tickets

Ticket prices are as follows
1st Tier Seating: $375 each (FCC box seats)
2nd Tier Seating: $270 each (FCC 2nd tier seats)
3rd Tier Seating: $180 each (first 10 rows of the third tier)
Grandstand Seating: $90 each (last 12 rows of the third tier)
- Tickets will be sold as complete three day packages. The above prices are per seat and include all matches that take place.
- You will be able to give a location preference when you place your order. You will not be given your seat assignment.
- Tickets will be mailed about 4 weeks before the event.

The $90 seats are the nose bleed seats ....

yea they're laying down a new surface. at Delray, which is already hardcourt anyway, they laid down an even slower surface. PMac was considering clay... but well, I think the hardcourt decision is self-explanatory :haha:

Note about that last post. I believe GMT is five hours ahead of eastern time, not four.

hmmm, very interesting! :aplot:

and yes Gmt is five hours ahead of eastern time...

Thanks! Yeah going down for a day is definitely preferable... I just want to watch guys play once...;)

Well I'll see I had no plans to buy tickets anytime soon so I'll wait it out. Even if I get shitty tickets. I know that you don't have to actually sit in the seats I'll just befriend a nice older volunteer and stand down by the good seats and watch. :D

You could always try to go as a Nethead. Tickets are free, except for the $15 for the net. For more information, check out their website. www.netheadsports.net.

haha, That's cool!

The funny thing is I lived in Winston-Salem for six and 1/2 years up until 2000. I probably know one of them. ;)

They look like a riot. Although I could never be one  I bet they have a blast.

I actually got a post card from Family circle and they confirmed it will be Roddick and the Bryan twins but not the fourth competitor.. Which is alright.

well the team won't be named officially until sometime around/during the USO. That's what it was last year, anyway. So that's when you'd be able to know who the 4th person is (assuming Andy and the Twins are both healthy and able to play:))
